Why is there flashing pixels on nikon D60 (DSLR)?

Hi,
I bought a nikon D60 last week and when I review my pictures I sometimes get flashing pixels? Why is this happening? What can I do to fix it?

Please help.

Answer by SidelineKiller
i had this conundrum with my d60…when you are viewing the photos press the zoom out button and you can see the pictures. There is a way you can view them larger i just pressed different buttons to get the pixel stuff off. I dont really remember which one it is. Hope some of the info i gave you helped

What your camera is telling you is that some areas of the picture are overexposed. I have List cameras and they do the same business. You can turn the feature off in your menu but you will have to look in your manual to see how to do it. If you’ve tinkered with several of the settings and want to reset the camera to it’s first factory settings, there is a way to do this in the menu options also. Excellent luck…

You REALLY need to read your owner’s manual and a excellent book about your camera.

Pressing the up and down buttons on the D60 cycles through all of the different viewing modes. These tell you what the camera did when it took the photo. The flashing is in highlight mode, meaning that it shows all of the areas of pure white. Just press up a few times, and you will be back to normal.

Zach hit it right on the button.

By the way, it’s simple to accidently go the control so your lcd show gives you a screenful of data, or exposure highlights. We’ve all done, it so don’t feel terrible. :)

Nikon D5000 with D60
nikon d60 review

Nikon D5000 photo review (written in Japanese)

To any Nikon professionals:
Nikon has updated their entry level line with the new Nikon D3000. I own a Nikon D60, and I was wondering if anyone has handled the new D3000 and is it a bit better than the D60, when it comes to color and image quality? The D3000 has not been reviewed yet since it’s groundbreaking new… But hopefully someone has tested it and can give me an opinion.

Answer by James W
Whatever the outcome, it’s probably not worth the upgrade from a D60. All you get is a larger screen and more autofocus points, and that’s not worth the $ 250 or so in costs if you sold your D60 and bought a D3000. Save your money up and get a new lens, or save up for a real body upgrade like the D90.

Answer by SI
Nikon D3000 is not a huge upgrade from D60.The difference is
– D3000 come with 11auto focus point while D60 3 auto focus point
– D3000 come with 3″ screen while D60 have 2.5″ screen
Picture quality from Nikon D3000 is fantastic sharp & vibrant but if you want to upgrade I would not recommend D3000.Save more and get D90.For more reviews and some sample pictures here
