I have a JVC Mini DVD Digital Camcorder. I need to make a VHS tape for an audition. Can I somehow do that ?

Needless to say I have rarely used my camcorder, but am willing to do whatever is needed to make this audition tape.

if you have the supplied rca cables for that camera you can hook them up to the vcr and do a play record with the vcr to transfer your video if you just need a strait copy no editing. if you need editing then you will need a computer with editing program and then a new way to get t to vhs.

I don’t intend on hijacking your topic, but who asks for VHS tapes for auditions anymore?

Most places now accept standard format DVDs.

super simple.
you should have a cable with the camcorder that has one plugs similar to a headphone jack but with 4 contacts instead of 3 on one end, and 3 rca connectors on the the other: yellow, black (or white) and red.
Plug the single connector to the AV connector of your JVC camera and the others on your VCR. The Yellow goes to video in, the other two to audio in with the RED being right (the other being left)
Now put the camcorder to VCR mode and press play.
On the vcr, slect the EXT input when you see the image on the tv, press record and record as a regular tv program.
Note to the other respondant about DVD: most places still request demo reels on VHS, they accept DVD because too many people asked but the prefered format still is VHS.

you can plug it into your VHS player using the A/V cables. if you for some reason cant do that. plug it into your computer using a USB or firewire cable. if you have an editing studio software, you can use that to capture it from the camcorder then you can record it to a tape in your VHS player by plugging it into your computer using A/V cables.

I am thinking about buying this camcorder but I want to know if my current tripod wil work with it. Is there different types of tripods? The one I have has two flat screws poking up that screw into the bottom of the camera. Does anyone have this camera and could tell me if it has the screw in holes.

Here I just checked… right in front of the SD card slot, it has one screw hole, and to the left of the screw hole there is a hole with no threads. Just a hole. So 2 holes, one with threads one without. Its a great camera though. But dont expect too much if you connect it to an HDTV. Looks kinda grainy on my 50 inch.
