I lost my usb connector for the digital camera.?

I lost my usb connector for the digital camera.?

Where can I get a usb connector to connect to the pc to transfer pictures. I don’t want to buy a SD memory card reader for $ 10 because I heard that taking the SD card in and out of the camera can make the SD card die faster. So I want to keep the SD card in the digital camera as much as possible.

Where can I get the usb connector ?
And are all the digital camera usb connector the same (universal) for all model ? Like if I buy the usb connector, will it work for Canon, HP or each model has their own usb connector ?

How much do I expect for the price ?
Can I get a local retail like Sears, Walmart, Target, etc ?

The digital camera is a Samsung Digimax A402 4 megapixel.

Thank you.

Here’s the search results on eBay:

You would only need to make sure that the USB connector type matches the one on your camera.

a usb conecter is a `universal` fitting.
check the other end of the cable though as it may not be a usb in your camera .
take your camera with you and ask.

Taking the card out of the camera is not a problem.

I carry several for a days shooting and then use card reader to upload to teh computer.

After several years I still regularly use my original memory card, the other have been bought to increase capacity for big shoots.

This is the kind of cord you need.

We got a Canon PowerShot SD400 Digital Elph camera for at a yard sale! It was missing the USB cable, but it worked with the one from our broken Canon PowerShot S330 Digital Elpha camera (which cost 0 in 2001). This camera has amazingly good imaging, and can take pictures in rapid succession soooo much faster than the other 2. It’s also our smallest camera. Unfortunately there’s only 1 battery.

BACKSTORY: For a full list of the stuff we got yard saleing that day: clintjcl.wordpress.com/2010/05/02/

First, I’m a technology idiot. I’ve got this older Canon camera. Bought it a year ago and busted it out the other day. Realized that I need a bigger memory card for it then what’s provided.

I don’t need anything fancy. I just want to take pictures with it. Are the memory cards at stores like Walmart and Target ok? The price seems right but will I run into problems with them? Brands like Dane-Elec, PNY, SanDisk, and Kingston?

And I think I’m going to just get a 2 GB card. Maybe a couple. It seems great to have like a 1000 pictures on an 8 GB card but that seems like way too many pictures on 1 card. My other question is what’s the difference between a SD card and a SDHC card? Are all cameras compatible with both or do I need to make sure of that?

I have a kodak camera and I always buy the cheaper memory cards from walmart for it. I spent alot of money on the camera im not gonna spend tons on memory cards. I have been using those types of brands on my camera for like 2years now and it still works fine.

Now youe SD & SDHC question. I think there compatible with both but I’m not positive.

Hope I at least helped to answer one of your questions.

Sandisk and Kinkston are good brand for SD card and SDHC mean SD High-Capacity Cards. The three SDHC speed classes –
Class 2, Class 4 and Class 6 mean transfer data at least 2, 4 and 6MB per second

I’ve had PNY, Kingston and SanDisk cards and all work fine. You need to read your instruction manual to see if you can use SDHC cards. If you don’t know for sure, stick with a 2GB card and you should be okay. I never use larger cards either, because I upload my pictures as soon as I am done shooting, and then format my card in my camera again. I don’t need a bigger one than a 1 GB actually.
