I have a Sony Handycam DCR-SR30E and I want to use it as a webcam to make a stop motion animation (if this makes any difference). I have no thought how to do this. I’ve connected it to my computer via USB, and that’s as far as I’ve gotten.
Answer by Dead End You need to download and bed in some stop-motion software, so that will recognize the video feed from your camcorder and you can then use the program to grab images and turn it into a video.
To really frame-grab and compile the movie, I’d suggest by Monkeyjam if you’re on a PC. It’s free.
You can also check out this website for other stop motion animation programs; some free, some retail. I haven’t used any of them (other than Stop Motion Pro) so I couldn’t tell you if the rest of their features were any excellent or not, but at least it gives you other options.

If the software you download doesn’t recognize your camcorder, you may just need to bring up to date its drivers. If that doesn’t work (Sony products often don’t play nice with third party programs) then you might need to go out and just buy a real webcam to use. Which isn’t too terrible, because a cheap one can be bought for $ 20-30 and it should be fine for stop motion videos.

Left to right, top to bottom these are a Largan Chameleon, a Pentax Optio S4, a Fuji FinePix F20, a Kodak EasyShare Z730, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX30, and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3. The Chameleon isn’t in use. The Optio is in hospice. The Fuji and the Kodak are about to be replaced by the two Panasonics and will go to new homes once I’m done playing side-by-side games.

What retail store carries Michelin Rainforce wiper blades?
I’m searching for a retail house to buy these wipers but can’t seem to find them locally. I tried Smythe Automotive and Auto Zone and both don’t carry Michelin products. Consumer reports rated them a best buy. I checked their website and found nothing related to wipers. Everything is mainly geared towards tires. Answer by Steve D There is a difference ion how people rate a product on Amazon and how Consumer Reports rates products. When a person rates a product on Amazon, they are providing their opinion about that one product. When CR reports, they set up a series of scales pertaining to functions that product should have and then they rate that product against similar products. So, a person on Amzon might like a specific function of something they bought and give it a high rating, which is fine. But that person doubtless doesn’t have access to competing products everywhere that specific function might be better – a excellent example would be a laptop. Weight is vital since you carry a laptop around. So you have a 3 pound laptop and you buy a new, 2 pound laptop from Amazon. Wow, you say, this is so much lighter, I like it and you rate that laptop high because of weight – and the weight is doubtless fine. But CR takes that laptop and 10 others and finds out that those 2 pounds place that laptop tight in the middle of a bunch of similar 1.5 pound and 3 pound laptops, so now, you can make a choice. Of course, CR doesn’t give that 2 pound laptop that high rating on weight that the Amazon customer did since there are some lighter ones out there that the Amazon customer hasn’t tried.
That is why I go with CR over individual people’s ratings (even with 50 people rating) unless I also spend the time reading reviews of competing products and comparing the tech specs (in which case, in the above example, I would know that even though John Smith said the weight was fantastic, I would know there were lighter laptops out there).

Answer by Small Dog It depends what you mean by “better”. The video captured by my DV/HDV camcorders looks fantastic.
If you like the “Depth of Field”, that can be done on DSLRs and many high definition camcorders.
I prefer a non-DSLR capture method because of the superior audio capture options built-in when I don’t feel like by an external audio capture device.
If you are comparing the high definition video from the 5D to consumer-grade AVCHD/MTS file quality… well, then that answers THAT question – it is all about video compression.

How to transfer photos from Kodak EasyShare to flashdrive?
I want to place my photos from my Kodak EasyShare software onto a flashdrive (I have about 6000). How would I do this?
Answer by Caoedhen Simple… plug a sparkle drive of sufficient capacity into any available USB port on your computer, open the file administrator of your choice, and copy away. Pretty simple stuff.
Answer by fhotoace That is right, you can copy directly to your flashdrive, but you really need to place those image files on your hard drive as well.
What worries me is that you have 6000 images on one card. Event 600 are too many.
That tells me that you are by your camera at too too low a resolution. And that you are not photocopying your images to your computer at the end of the day and formatting the card. Your method is nearly asking to have the memory card be converted into corrupt.
Raise the resolution of your camera to its highest possible setting and then at the end of each day shooting, copy them to your computer for safe keeping and then by the format feature on you computer, format the card, refreshing it.

Smart people buy Tech stuff at the stores in person. Best Buy, Future Shop, Staples, Canadian Tire & Sources are reliable Tech stores in Canada. You’d atleast get some warranty for replacement or return and even mail in rebate there sometimes if the company has one. But the price is like more the Optical Zoom higher the price. In Sony the best so far is Sony DCR-DVD108 DVD Handycam Camcorder with 40X Optical zoom, its the latest one and It comes with 3 basic stuff like Software to help you use your camcorder on a computer for downloading your video, USB cable for connecting the cam with your computer and an Adapter cord for recharging the Lithium battery. Check with Best Buy & Staples Depot. It was on sale at about $ 449.99 (Tax not included) which is within $ 500 but some stores are promotion the same product at over $ 549.99 -$ 600.

I want to set my camcorder up so that I can use it as a surveillance camera. I want whatever is being recorder to be saved directly to my PC, so that I don’t use all my internal memory and the video does not stop recording once all the space is used.
I can have my camcorder on without it turning off automatically as long as it is plugged in, but the only conundrum is that it runs out of space after about 2 hours of filming and the camcorder will still be on but nothing is being recorded. Does anyone know a way that I can have my video being saved to my PC hard drive instead of by the internal memory of the camcorder? Any help would be really appreciated. I am looking to buy a digital camera with excellent optical zoom for my parents. I am unable to choose between the above options because what is lacking in one camera is available in the other and vice versa. I do not wish to equate the camera on price yet, just on the routine at this point in time.
Here is a wish list of what I expect the most from my camera: 1. Assuming that I’d want to print my pictures someday, EXCELLENT/EXCEPTIONAL quality of pictures in terms of: crisp/sharp images on zooming, natural color, excellent contrast, routine in low set alight, less of purple color interference 2. High optical zoom (anything >= 10x works for me just fine) 3. Smooth and crystal clear video recording with the ability to zoom in motion
Nice to haves: 1. Panaromic sweep or photostitch feature or something similar 2. ability to shoot in HD 3. long battery life 4. excellent screen visibility in the sun 5. within the range of $ 200-$ 300 (I can go a small more than that if vital) 6.

I want a small, simple to handle digital camera. That makes excellent pictures even with terrible lighting etc. I looked in a shop at the FujiFilm F30 and the Panasonic FX-01 and the Canon Powershot SD600. I liked all three of them and would like some advice which one to get when comparing price and picture quality. I would use the camera for snapshots like at family gatherings, when lynching out with friends and so on. Can anyone give advice? Thanks in enhancement!

This will be my first camera. It will mainly be used for taking photos of friends and family, landscapes and video recording. Im looking for a nice camera with excellent picture quality and that also takes HD video. I’ve checked many cameras, but I finished up with Canon Ixus 100 IS and Sony Cyber-shot T90. I cannot choose witch one to buy, I like them both. I reckon I like the Sony better, but I’ve heard that the Canon Ixus has better picture quality(The video quality looks a small bit better too). I’m really tired of reading and watching camera reviews, and I need a to buy a camera quick.. before summer holiday.
So delight, I need help to choose. Wich is better, the Sony or the Canon? Is the difference between the picture and video quality noticeable, does it matter much? Do you have any of the two, if so, are you pleased with it?

Answer by Sanidhya i personally prefer canons.. chk out flickr, most of the pro photographers use canons… i u want for general use, get a canon point & shoot and for really addictive photography.. u should go for a SLR.. those have lots of manual adjustments to take a pic they way u like… i really want a Canon EOS 40D… anyways delight in photography b4 export question the guy to take a few snapshots and view them on same screen in their original sizes, things like digital noise (blurry images) be converted into evident in original sizes…

I just bought a canon SD950 and im not really impressed with how it looks. I heared canon is a excellent brand. But as i checked online, most if not all of their cameras are thick. Which i dont like. I want somethin slim or compact. So i can easily place it in my purse or my jeans packet for like everyday use. So, can you guys help me on what camera shld i get? Is there any compact/ slim canon camera? Or shld i just try the Nikon coolpix or sony cybershot? Pls help me choose. Give me one best choice from canon, nikon and sony. Thanks for your help!

For example Sony Cybershots camera are extremely thin and offer high quality photo (8.1mp!!!) but with low optical zoom.
Nikon Coolpix are really fantastic slim camera and is from a well renowned recognize brand in the camera industry (Nikon is renowned for making their high-end DSLR cameras).
Cannon is also a excellent brand in the camera industry but i find their products to be thick compared to Sony’s Cybershots.
So if you want really slim camera i would go for Sony’s Cybershot camera series.

Anyway, everywhere is the best house to buy cheap digital slr accessories? Like lenses, batteries, etc for canon?
I spent £500 on my DSLR here in the UK which is around 50,000 pesos, I can spend around 10,000+ pesos on accessories.
Answer by Well Your fantastic sense of humility aside, the best house to shop for professional camera equipment is in the UK or on the many online retailers of camera equipment–such as B and H Photo and those reputable stores on Ebay.

If you’re excellent at bargaining I’d recommend the electronics stall and boutiques in the Virra Mall in Greenhills. But do this only if you can speak Tagalog fluently or have a companion who can. If you don’t they’ll start you off with an artificially high starting price. Also, you take the chance that the merchandise is a cheap Chinese knockoff.
Otherwise, I’d direct you to the 4th and 5th floors of Megamall in Madaluyong City or Park Square 1 & 2 in the Glorietta Shopping Complicated in Makati City.
And keep in mind that the selection here might not be what it is in the UK. Perhaps you should make a stop in Hong Kong if that’s not a conundrum.
