Screen is black on Canon Digital Video Camcorder NTSC 2R85!!!! HELP!!!!?

i need my video camera in 1 hours and i can`t get picture all i see is like gray lines please please help!!!!

I want to get the Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS but I don’t know if it can record videos. Does it record videos and do you think it’s good?
If it does, how long could it record for, I want to make youtube videos for it. If it depends on the memory card which do you reccomend I get?
