I have a Canon GL2 camera used for school, but recently when plugged in absolutely nothing happens?

Our school doesn’t have funding to buy a whole new charger, but we were wondering if it has something to do with the internal battery being old? it’s 11 years old. any troubleshooting help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, the internal battery has nothing to do with lack of function when plugged in.

Take a look at the socket the cable connects to in the camera. Make sure everything looks straight and isn’t loose. Turn the camera off when plugged in & see if the charge light illuminates. Of course, make sure the outlet you’re plugged into works by plugging something else in it or plugging the camera elsewhere.

If possible, take it to a real camera store (especially if the rent gear). They may be able to test your charger/battery on another camera or have their own to try on your camera to see if the charger is bad.

A test on Canon GL2 borrowed from ITS. Very rough editing in Premiere Pro. Canon GL2 borrowed from my workplace and turns out to be a pretty good camera.
