What lenses are compatible with the Digital Canon EOS Rebel XSi?

my lens maximum zoom is 55mm I want something larger and better, like 300mm. are there any lens that are compatiple?

All the Canon EF and EF-S lenses are compatible with your camera. Also lenses with a “Canon EF” mount are compatible, lenses such as Sigma, Tokina, and Tamron.

Go to http://adorama.com you can search for lenses by brand, and mount type, as well as by type of lens (macro, telephoto, telephoto zoom etc.. )

I agree with foggy_id, but want to add this:

Before you go export the cheapest lens you can find, reckon about this long term. Camera bodies change, but we tend to keep our lenses.
As you grow in your knowledge of – and like for – photography, you will demand more quality.

I made the mistake of wasting money on cheap lenses, only to replace them later with excellent L lenses. I wish I had waited a bit longer and bought the excellent stuff in the first house.

If you’re going the cheap route, then make it as cheap as you possibly can and expect that you will be wanting to replace them as soon as you learn more about what your images COULD look like.

Basically, a kiss x3 is the 500D (T1i). The 500D has 3 more megapixels, a new processor, higher iso sensitivity, better screen, movie recording (no manual exposure though) and a larger buffer for high speed burst. Basically, if you don’t need movie recording (which is pretty terrible on this camera compared to the 550D) then get the Xsi.
