Fuji FinePix F80EXR Press Release

Valhalla, NY, February 02, 2010 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation now announced the FinePix F80EXR, a sleek, compact digital camera that combines intuitive use with the most advanced features, including Fujifilm's award-winning EXR technology, available in a point-and-shoot digital camera. Among its many features, the FinePix F80EXR has an impressive Fujinon 10x Wide-Angle optical zoom lens, a 12-MegaPixel Super CCD EXR sensor, a large, 3.0" High-Contrast LCD, Face Recollection, Pet Detection and HD movie capture at 720p.

Encased in a perfectly sculpted metal shell with a double coated gloss end and measuring only 22.9 mm thick, the FinePix F80EXR comes in black. The FinePix F80 EXR offers numerous enhancements over its predecessor, the FinePix F70EXR, and boasts marked improvements over competing long-zoom digital cameras, particularly in the areas of color and design, image quality and capture technology.

"The FinePix F80EXR has the same advanced Fujifilm EXR technology and 10x long-zoom that made the F70EXR so successful," said David Troy, marketing administrator, Consumer Digital Cameras, Electronic Imaging Division, Fujifilm North America Corporation, "and takes it to the next level with even more features, such as HD Movie Capture and Face Recollection, for users to achieve outstanding results in effectively any lighting condition."

Face Recollection
Now, users can register up to eight (8) faces, along with names, birthdays and categories, and the F80EXR will prioritize focus and exposure right on the faces of those special people. Users can also use Image Search to view images of a registered person. Compared to models from other manufacturers, Fujifilm's Face Recollection has quicker recollection speed, greater digit of names showed, and the ability to retract the most often shot subject.

Super CCD EXR
Long zoom compact cameras, as opposed to standard compact digital cameras, typically use a less vital sensor that is vulnerable to trying lighting situation since set alight has a harder time reaching the CCD sensor. To mitigate this vulnerability, Fujifilm has introduced its award-winning EXR technology into the FinePix F80EXR, allowing for significant enhancement in image quality against the competition.

Fujifilm's EXR technology uses the human eye as the basis for the perfect camera sensor, making a Super CCD sensor competent of registering brilliant levels of detail when switched to its HR (High Resolution) mode. The FinePix F80EXR is also competent of offering brilliant quality in low set alight and superb highlight detail in contrast set alight when switched to its SN (High Sensitivity and Low Noise) mode and DR (Wide Dynamic Range) modes respectively.

Super Slim 10x Zoom Lens
In conjunction with the Super CCD EXR sensor, the FinePix F80EXR features a Fujinon 10x Wide-Angle optical zoom lens that produces crisp high resolution results throughout the focal range, from 27mm wide-angle to 270mm telephoto. The lens of the FinePix F80EXR features Super EBC Coating that keeps ghosting and flare to minimum to allow for optimal picture quality.

HD Movie Capture
With the ability to capture movies in HD quality – 720p HD – the F80EXR also has a mini HDMI Port, making it quick and simple for users to realize the full benefits of their home theater system and to share all their special moments.

Pet Detection
For those who delight in the company of four-legged friends, the F80EXR has Pet Detection, allowing users the ability to detect up to 10 faces of dogs or cats and automatically optimize the focus. The F80EXR is programmed to recognize 57% of the Fédération Cyno Logique Internationale (FCI) Registered Dogs, 80% of the Top 20 Dogs in the American Kennel Club (AKC) Ranking and 60% of The Cat Fancier's Association (CFA) breeds1. Pet Detection works by matching various dog or cat data of facial parts with patterns to detect the dog or cat being photographed.

Tracking Auto Focus
The F80EXR also has Tracking Auto Focus, which allows users to track a moving subject automatically for still picture capture.

The FinePix F80EXR also offers these additional features:

• 'Super Intelligent' Sparkle: The FinePix F80EXR offers a sparkle control system which efficiently controls the level of sparkle for a given exposure to produce perfectly balanced sparkle illumination crosswise the foreground and background. Gone are the hideous washout shots everywhere the subject is blasted with set alight and the background dark and unexposed. Super Intelligent Sparkle is most helpful in macro photography everywhere the contrast between subject and background can be especially challenging, but is also effective for night and backlit photography.

• Face Detection and Automatic Red-eye Confiscation: To provide impeccably exposed and all ears likeness shots, the FinePix F80EXR is fitted with Fujifilm's latest Face Detection technology which is able to track up to 10 faces simultaneously, at nearly any angle to the camera. The system instantly corrects red-eye and then saves both the original and the corrected image file automatically.

• Dual Image Stabilization: Long-zoom cameras need stabilization more than any other compact, with grasp and subject movement a particular conundrum in low set alight at telephoto range. The FinePix F80EXR reduces blur to a minimum by deploying Picture Stabilization to automatically increase shutter speeds to freeze action, and CCD Sensor Shift Stabilization to counteract the problems of grasp. By cleverly combining these two, blur is reduced to an absolute minimum.

• 3.0" High-Contrast LCD: The FinePix F80EXR is fitted with a high contrast 230K-pixel 3.0" LCD. The high contrast LCD is a considerable benefit in bright set alight, and means that the camera can be pitched at various shooting angles to enable framing of awkward shots. The LCD is bright and clear for gorgeous rendition of shots in playback.

The FinePix F80EXR will be available in April 2010 at a retail price of 9.95.

I bought a casio exilim at target and the zoom is messed up and it is scratched up and I want a new one for free that works well. Are they able to do this? How? I got it about 3 or 4 months ago.

This is the camera (except it’s blue) – http://www.target.com/Casio-Exilim-8MP-Digital-Camera/dp/B0012XTIL6/qid=1215480473/ref=br_1_7/602-1248142-6683002?ie=UTF8&node=333986011&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=target&field-browse=333986011&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=2

it’s not exactly officially authorized…. but…

in these situations, i often say i lost the receipt but i just bought the a few days ago and it set in my closet, when i opened the wrap i noticed these scratches on it…

all they do is send it back to the company under ‘poor workmanship’ and youy are allowed to exchange it for the exact same model

“If the return salesperson doesn’t know a scratch from an itch, you may get away with it.”

wtf does that have to do with anything… he opened the wrap and found that there was a factory defualt and desires his item replaced.

just incase you’re wodering, they deparments will do this: they simply send the item back witha description fo the problems…. they are in retrn, refunded (or have a replacement sent, which they can sell groundbreaking new)

machine errors do happen, and belive it not, THIS IS relatively common…. a few hunder thousand discs made a day… (if nto more) you epxect no problems? they anticipate this conundrum ahead of time (which requires a mark up)

all of this is calculate, you’re not even breaking any law… bending it yes… but not just shattering it…

How did it get scratched up? How did the zoom get messed up? If it was fine when you bought it, then returning it now will be dishonest. Trying to get a new one free will be pretty much stealing. Is that really what you want to do?

yes technically it is stealing, but from whom really? who really takes the hit financially…? the people at the top, the ones who screw MILLIONS of people a day….

i’m not saying this makes it right, but look att he facts…. people do this all the time…. the companies charge a mark-up just to insure their profits against it…. do you honestly reckon they don’t expect people to do this all the time (WHY THE FUCK ELSE WOULD THEY NOT REQUIRE A RECEIPT WITH ANY RETURN) they just ship it off to the company who repairs it for the equivealnt of a buck or two and resends it as a completey groundbreaking new item…

look the shit up yourself, nearly EVERY company does this.

the best profit a company makes is from those who DON’T do this….. which becuase most are too worried to lie abit, they make a excellent profit….

dude, technically ti’s illegal, but you’d never get busted, and honestly,t he only people having money ‘stolen’ from them, are the highest uptop ceo’s and such that already make millions upon milions a year.

You bought a Casio, which is a junk camera, and now you realize it. Learn from your mistake. Save up your money and buy a decent camera.

see if the warranty covers those hurts.

if it’s user hurt, let this be a lesson in taking care of you gear and welcome to the real world of responsibility.

I’m sure to get some thumbs down for my advice, but if the cost of cameras goes up part of it will be because of this type of mentality and practice. Just look in the mirror and you’ll see a huge part of why the price went up.

i had the sudden urge to make a video tonight and this is what popped up! i have a dreadful small digital camera i captured clips on, which i then transfered and edited by imovie. the concept was thought up as i went along! hope it’s enjoyable.
