All of my equipment has it’s own tale. Or more each camera has it’s own.

Let’s start in the order I got to use them.

Canon T70 – First camera I ever used. Belonged to my dad, he bought it back in the 80′s during a trip to Hong Kong. It is quite ironic that nearly 30 being later, it would be back but in my hands. Doubtless my camera of choice if I ever had to pick one.

Olympus OM-1 – This camera was found on my attic, belonged to my mother which bought it groundbreaking new, with all the lenses, back in the 70′s. As she retract, the price then was around 200 euros. How much that is now I don’t even want to know. Is still in perfect condition and still my most reliable camera.

Canon EOS 50D – This was one of my own first really huge investments. After I had been owning the 400D for a year I started to feel a bit like the technology was holding me back. And since the lenses I owned was already fitting both bodies, the question was just when. Hong Kong, spring 2009 was the year. I really like the camera and this is still my only digital, that might be a hint on how much I really like film. Also that next time I want to go for the larger sensor of camera, and that is a lot more money.

Blackbird, glide – I wanted to buy a new camera, but the one I bought was just the same thing that I already had. After walking back to get a refund, I started reading on the receipt. "No Refunds" was written on the bottom. So I looked around for anything else to invest in. And there it was, just a few bucks more.

Yashica Electro G35 – Doubtless the camera I have invested most like in. But excellent like. Found it on a promote in Harajuku in Tokyo, Japan. Costed me about 10 Euros, but had no battery for the spotmeter and shutterspeed to work. It was flat 1/125 for sparkle, and that was all that worked. Looking all over the web for a replacement battery, just to find out, they stopped making them in the 80′s. For some reason, they were not to nice to the environment. Getting sad I chose that I could use it as paper weight at home. Still in Japan, but this time in Kyoto I walked into a small and ancient photostore to buy film. I saw it from a mile away, the adapter for new batteries to work as a replacement. I bought it and my Yashica is now complete. Did I mention that this baby is from 1966?

Superheadz Superwide – I was thinking of export this camera a lot of times. But never did. Getting home to cold Sweden this christmas, one of my best friends had gotten me this small yellow guy.

Mini Diana – I never like Lomography really, but when I got my friend a new Diana F+ because his ancient broke, I unwritten more. But wasn’t convinced. Then I found this one that could take 24 x 24, or half shots. Knowing now that the so called "Golden Half" exist, I would have preferred that one.

Nikon F5 – This is doubtless the most expensive one I own. And how I got it is quite fascinating. This chinese new year, my friend invited me again, as always. But this time I brought my 50D along. Didn’t snap any "awesome" shots, but still. Then her father questions me if I wanted a body. Being and camera addict I say "Yes". The day after my friend brings it to me, and what a suprise! It was the Nikon F5!

I want to get for myself a digital camera, but I’m worried about shopping so close to Christmas. I don’t want to spend a lot, but I do want a decent one. I know, I’m asking for a lot. I would like at least a 5.0 pixel, an Olympus or a Sony. Should I wait in anticipation of after the rush? Will they be on sale then? They’re mostly full price or slightly less wherever I go now. Does anyone know if they have end-of-year sales? Thanks! :-)
