Q&A: Which digital camcorder to buy in $200 price range?

Q&A: Which digital camcorder to buy in $200 price range?

Soon I am export for myself a digital camcorder…been looking at this one, but don’t know if it’s the right choice because in the reviews, people are saying they were having problems transferring their video footage to the computer. I need to be able to easily place my videos on the pc and then edit them with Windows Movie Maker……I’ve heard something about a “Firewire” cable, but not sure if I need it or not.

If this camera isn’t going to work with my computer, does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I should buy?

You could go to the store that you bought your computer from and question them. You would have to see exactly how the camera works with the computer. The camcorder is only as excellent as the software program that comes with it.To me it would be vital to record in the Windows format. That’s mpeg or avi. Mov files are not that common—very few computers play them.

trv280 is excellent enough due to its digital format. You’ll surely gonna use a firewire (ieee 1394) cable to connect it to the computer.
Distress only occur when equipments doesn’t contest like no firewire port or slow usb port, even processor speed should be at par with the installed softwares. So take note, You ought to know if your computer has the capability and this firewire port, if so, then no need to worry.
Go ahead, buy your camcorder!

Reviewed on my blog.

I’m looking for reviews/suggestions for digital camcorders.

I’m on a limited budget, prefer under $ 200USD, but will go as far as $ 300. It needs to travel well; I’ll be going out of the country in two months and it will need to survive some honestly rugged travel.

I don’t need a ton of like features though I certainly want to be able to change out memory cards and be able to film in low set alight areas. And I want excellent video and signal quality for my money. I’d also like it to be somewhat moisture strong in the event that I’m filming during rainy weather.

Thanks in enhancement. =)
Also, I don’t know if this will affect the answers but, that I have a macbook- so I’ll need a camera that makes mac compatible video files such as .mov or avi files.

Thanks.

Any digital camcorder will be able to transfer the video/audio signal via firewire to your PC. The program you use to import the signals will determine what type of file it wil be.
