What camcorders are similar to the Canon GL2 and around the same price?
Similar in terms of quality and function and also around the same price (that I could find off ebay)?

Mission 24: Gear up

I’m gearing up tonight for a documentary shoot tomorrow. I’m such a gear-dork sometimes. Mouseover the photo to see notes on what we’re packing.
We bought all of this stuff for our wedding video business, which we loved but are now pleased to be done with.
Shot for Mission 24: GEAR. This shot taught me that my file-cabinet will support my entire weight.
i would really like a recomendation and does anyone also know a excellent house thats reliable to get one and low prices?

Do you have a specific reason for getting a standard definition camera?
Personally, for less $ , a Canon HV20 or Sony HDR-HC9 will get you high definition and standard definition onto miniDV tape… and a BeachTeck XLR adapter gets you to excellent pro-grade XLR mics.
The GL2 or VX1000 *may* be marginally better in really low-set alight situation – but not noticeably so.
Recommendations for source:
Amazon.com, B&H Photo, Adorama.com… Be careful of scammers with “buck prices”. Too many of them are either promotion gray-promote gear or they sell you the camera – and charge extra for the cables, batteries and all the other stuff the real retailers keep in the box from the manufacturers.
