Q&A: Is my Sony Cyber-shot digital camera water-proof?

Hi. I have a grey Cyber-Shot camera by Sony, and I needed to know if it’s waterproof? Like if I can take pics underwater with it? I lost the instructions sheet so I dont know. It’s grey, and thick. PLEASE HELP!

You didn’t even give us a model number, so I can’t do the work for you and look it up.

Go the Sony website and download a new manual.

Sorry, but grey and thick is really not going to help anyone identify the camera. And if we can’t identify it it’s difficult to say if it’s water proof.

Do a google image search for the sony cybershot tx5. If that’s your camera then it’s waterproof. If it’s not then I would avoid water. Also you might want to check on the camera if you can find a ,ode; number. The TX5 has a model number on the top of the camera, so I imagine other cybershots are similar, check there first. Once you have a model number, a simple google search should give you an answer.
