The best camcorder to get that is High Def.. is the Samsung HMX H200 its going for 230 refurbished and 300 groundbreaking new. Its worth the price. Also to add in if you want to spend more to have a even better camcorder. Consider taking a look at the Sony CX150, Sony HDR HR150 and Panasonic SD60S. These are the best High Def Camcorders Ive came across which are all under 1,000. They all have 25x optical zoom and under 4 lux level for fantastic night footage.

I would consider List VIXIA HF M30 Dual Flash Memory Camcorder
* Records up to 3 hours of crisp high definition record to an 8GB internal flash drive or directly to removable SD memory cards
* Genuine List 15x HD Record Lens delivers unsurpassed image quality
* List 3.89-Megapixel Full HD CMOS Image Sensor captures record at 1920 x 1080 resolution
* List DIGIC DV III Image Processor provides the ultimate in color and imaging performance
* Dynamic SuperRange OIS corrects a full range of motion

Ciao, i have just started control videos, my client gave me HD footage from his HDR Fx1 sony record camera, I imported the record in FULL HD in i movie 09, now my client wants the Hd to be converted into a fixed DVD since alot of public do not have Blu ray. I am going to use imovie to export it in H.264 format but how do i get that on a Dvd without loosing alot of quality.. i currentlly have toast pro but when i tried burning a converted hd record to a dvd it always killed the quality alot! and would not let me burn at low speeds even when i selected 2-3x speed……i would really be grateful for some feedback…its an emergency

Have you considered:

Using more than one DVD?
Sinking the frame size?
Sinking the frame rate, if it’s more than 29.97 fps?
Control out some scenes?
Converting and recompressing the audio to a smaller size?
Using a smoothing filter to reduce superfluous detail or noise?

Additional than that, I don’t know any additional way than compressing the heck out of it. I assume you’re using high-capacity DVD’s?

You should note, normal dvd players only recognize record dvd format well, record dvd format only support 720×480(ntsc) or 720×576(pal) record resolution highest, can’t support HD record resolution, so when you convert HD videos to record dvd format, a right software will reduce the HD record reslution to fit the record dvd requirement, but don’t worry about the quality, I reckon that’s enough excellent for normal record DVD, of course, use a better software to convert the HD videos to record dvd format will get the better record dvd quality, so don’t use toast pro, follow me to use RZ DVD Creator to help you, it can convert any record files to excellent quality record dvd format and fit/burn onto any dvd disc, such as convert your HD h.264 videos to excellent quality record dvd format and burn to a DVD, and your client can play the burned record dvd well on his dvd players, you can yahoo or google search and download RZ DVD Creator, hope it can help you.
