Broken Digital camera,no receipt but still under warranty?

Broken Digital camera,no receipt but still under warranty?

hey,

I’ve got an olympus fe-320 that i got for a present last November,

recently, due to carelessness on my own behalf, it’s got a couple of things incorrect with it, for example: the sensor’s pretty hurt and the lens too ……..keep your camera in its case kids!

anyyyway, i was just wondering without the receipt can i send it away to be repaired while it’s still under warranty?
and if so where do i send it?
i cant bring it back to where it was bought because i live in ireland and it was bought in China!

Thanks a lot !

The warranty doesn’t cover carelessness on your behalf unless you paid for some extra warranty that fixes something you broke. Did you send in the warranty card? You should have made a copy of it.

The repair will be on you.

Warranties only cover manufacturing flaws, not hurt caused by the user.

Second, you will have to find a repair shop that will work on “gray market” cameras. This may mean sending it to the Olympus International Repair Station nearest you.

warranty does not cover accidents
the warranty would only be 3 months
it will cost over $ 100 to fix
reckon
fix or buy new

Well, receipt or not, warranties don’t cover carelessness (I know this from experience).

You probably should’ve made a copy of the receipt, but I reckon proof of hold would’ve worked.
You would send it to an olympus store. I really drove to one, so I’m not sure exactly what you’d need to do to send it (like what you should include, etc.)

What do you reckon? Answer below!

My hubby has just bought a Lexar Professional UDMA 2GB, 300 speed card for his digital camera. I have a Compaq Windows 2000 Computer. We already have my Olympus Digital Program and his List EOS Digital Program on my computer. I can’t download the above at present because each time I try it says there is an error. I’m worried of downloading Programs from the Internet because of buggy programs I’ve picked up before and it’s cost me heaps to repair. This is the only way to get this program. I’m beyond doubt not pleased about any of this. Will the new program muck up my computer as well?
Many thanks Mary

I wouldn’t download two copies of photo software just to buy pictures from the camera.

Compact flash is just another type of memory card for the camera. No huge deal. If you don’t want to mess with the camera software at all, and just want to download pictures to folders, you can do that. You can also buy a small memory card reader taht reads most types all in one. They are like 15 bucks usually.
