Cheap Canon SLR camera?

Cheap Canon SLR camera?

what is the cheapest canon Digital SLR camera right now? I don’t want something to out of date, but i can’t afford the $ 800′s ones. I suppose it doesn’t have to be a canon, but in my opinion they are the best.

At the moment I have a film SLR Olympus that is about 8 years old and just broke, so i was thinking of getting a new one.

If you need a Canon, you’ll need to look for a used one. B&H Photo sells used gear, I believe they occasionally have older Rebels for sale. They also will sell you a warranty if you have concerns about buying used equipment.

The cheapest Canon DSLR is Canon Rebel XS.It around $ 550

For under $ 800 you can get better one Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP which almost the same camera, but the XSi has more to offer than the XS. Perhaps consider basing your buying decision on how serious you will be taking up digital SLR photography. If you firmly believe that you will take digital SLR photography very seriously in the long run and want a solid entry-level digital SLR camera, then the Canon XSi may be a better choice for you. If price is your main concern and you are only looking for Canon’s bottom entry-level digital SLR model, then the current price of the Canon XS kit is quite worthy of a purchase consideration.

Nikon D80 in my opinion

Answer by OMG, I ♥ PONIES!!1
While we wait for Dr. Sam to finish his coffee (hi Sam!), I’ll just add my vote for the D80. These cameras both have 10 megapixels – at least the Rebel XTi does – and you won’t see much difference in image quality. The D80′s larger viewfinder, larger grip, and one or two extra features do make the D80 a more pleasant camera to use. Both brands have plenty of lenses etc, and a great upgrade path.

Both cameras are great. I prefer the D80, the grip is larger which comes in handy if you have larger hands. The D80 also has a larger screen and the clarity is very good. They both have a vast array of lenses to suite your needs and tons of accessories. Your better off going to the store and see what camera feels best in your hands. Keep in mind both take great shots, you just need to find out what feels the most comfortable for you to shoot with. Hope this helps!

for me ……i’d go with D80 ….

The D80 absolutely outclasses the Canon Rebel. More frames per second capability, more user friendly and ergonomically designed controls, and larger LCD screen.
