Need help with a Samsung Digital Camcorder, it records onto mini dvds.?

You can put your SD card in it also. It is a SC-DX103. Can I get the dvds to play in the dvd player or anything besides the computer? Can I transfer what is on the mini dvds onto a normal dvd? What can I get to record more than 30 minutes per mini dvd? Or can I get a SD card that will let me record for long periods of time? I need something to record for a long period of time or will I have to switch out DVDs every 30 minutes?? PLEASE HELP.

Read the camcorder’s manual.

To address your items directly:

1) You can put your SD card in it also.
Response: The SD card is for still pictures only – not video.

2) It is a SC-DX103.
Response: My condolences. No one should ever waste their money on a consumer grade, standard definition, DVD based camcorder.

3) Can I get the dvds to play in the dvd player or anything besides the computer?
Response: Yes. Read the section in the manual regarding discs and finalizing.

4) Can I transfer what is on the mini dvds onto a normal dvd?
Response: Yes, after finalizing. Since we don’t know what equipment you have available – either computer hardware or “direct to DVD” recorders we can’t know for sure.

5) What can I get to record more than 30 minutes per mini dvd?
Response: Not much – unless you want to have very poor video quality and use the LP record mode. This is not recommended because the video quality is very poor. Double sided blanks can provide more record time, but you have to stop recording when the 1st side is full, take the disc out and turn it over – then restart recording. Carry spare blank discs.

6) Or can I get a SD card that will let me record for long periods of time?
You can get more SD cards – but they won’t record video. In the remote event they do, the recorded video will probably be lower quality (even more compressed) than the DVD stored video.

7) I need something to record for a long period of time or will I have to switch out DVDs every 30 minutes?
Response: Yes. See item 5, above.

Warning: The VOB files stored on the discs by these types of camcorders were never meant to be edited. If you decide you want to edit – or upload – the video to a web site somewhere, you will need a DVD ripper. HandBrake works well

It was the first Sunday of two morning services at HTG this morning (holytrinitygateshead.org.uk). Hannah helped with the children’s ministry in the second service, so I looked after Ben.

I gave him our Samsung U10 camcorder/digital camera and showed him how to take pictures with it. He took a lot – including this one when I was about to get him out of the car to walk along the beach at Whitley Bay!

I put the memory stick duo pro into the adapter thing and then I slipped into my camcorder. The memory stick now has all the video files on it that I want. My computer doesn’t have a slot to slip in the regular memory stick duo or when the memory stick is in the longer adapter. What do I do???

you can buy a card reader or adapter for any electronic shop.
but Most of the computers now (laptops) come with the card readers.
