About best buy credit card and credit report.?

I got a best buy credit card a few weeks ago and used it that day to buy an iPod Touch. I’ve also made a payment online before any payment was due. I just today checked my credit report and there was no inquiry into any of the three agencies to get my card and my new credit account isn’t showing up. Why is this? Do the Best Buy credit cards make much of a difference to your credit?

It will take anywhere from 30-60 days to show up on your credit report..depends on how quick on the draw Best Buy’s office staff is.

Best Credit card is just like any additional card. It takes a long time (like months) for something to show up on your credit report so give it time.

Best Buy does not always appear on your credit report as “best buy”. It appears as HSBC/BSBUY on my experian report.
Also, your report probably will not show the account until your first billing statement, as there is no account to report until the first billing cycle is complete. It then takes a few days/weeks for the credit companies to add the account to your report.
The inquiry may or may not exist on your report, as not all inquiries get “place on your report”
It’s a excellent account to have on your history because HSBC Bank does additional accounts like Visa/Mastercard acounts (My GM Credit card is via them too)

I couldnt get one, but i was 18 and had no credit….sooo i dk if you have excellent credit i doubt it.

find a $ 400 item and go to customer service and see if you get it. My daughter qualified for it along with 12 months no interest.

I reckon a monkey may maybe get one. Just know that store cards have ridiculous interest tariff. You’d be better off getting a fixed credit card.

No they use HSBC as a lender, and it is a very lenient bank. Beware they APR may maybe be pretty high though
