Is the battery for a nikon coolpix s210 the same for a nikon coolpix s220?

Is the battery for a nikon coolpix s210 the same for a nikon coolpix s220?

I lost the battery charger to my s210 and i found a replacement charger for a s220 and I am wondering if it is the same battery for both and if I should get the s220 charger.

Answer by fhotoace
The do both use the same battery charger, but buying a generic charger is not recommended.

Read the caution in your cameras user guide.

Generic chargers can 1) overcharge the battery, 2) over heat the battery and 3) maybe cause a fire or explosion. All of which can reduce the life of the battery

Taken with my Nikon Coolpix S210

I found a cord that fits it and I’m trying to transfer my images onto the computer using the cord but it doesn’t do anything. It just turns on and off like fixed.

Just save you the hassle by using a card reader it quick and very simple to use just by plug the card reader and go it’s that simple.

If the camera is on then the computer should recognize it as an external storage device when you plug the cord in to the computer. With luck it will auto detect it and just install the apt drivers for you automatically.

If it doesn’t, you’ll need to install the software that came with the camera or go to Nikon’s website and download it from there.

Do remember that you’re using camera battery life when you transfer pictures that way so you might want to consider getting a media card reader and just plug your memory card in to that to transfer your pictures. They generally run $ 15-20 so it’s not a huge investment.

Hope that helps!

like they said – card readers much simpler.

but if your looking for an instant fix this tends to work with my camera – though it’s not the same model.

- install any software that came with it
- turn the computer off and on again – especially if you’ve just installed the software – it won’t work right if you don’t restart.
- if you have the cord plugged in and you’ve done all of the above just make sure the camera is switched on as well as plugged in – some camera’s won’t do a business without this.
- there may also be an option on the screen saying USB or something similar so if so select that :)

i hope this helped :)
