How to download pictures from a kodak digital camera?

my computer brain doesnt have a slot where you can place the memory chip from the
camera to download the pictures on the computer. i have this plug that connects from the
digital camera to the computer but somehow it doesnt work! do you guys know
how i can download pics without the memory chip? thankyou!

I’m looking to upgrade my 8 year dinosaur digital camera and want to stay with a Kodak. Features I’m looking for are compact in size and weight, a large viewing screen, brilliant zooming and if possible able to use with my current Kodak docking station. Any suggestions are welcomed.
