How do you charge a Nikon Coolpix L18 camera?

How do you charge a Nikon Coolpix L18 camera?

Is the charger for the camera the USB cord? How long does it have to charge? Please give details! :)

Answer by keerok
I’m not sure how to charge a Nikon camera but beyond doubt it’s not through a USB cable. That cable is for data transfer only.

The camera should have come with a battery charger. Any you plug the camera to it then plug the charger to the wall or take off the camera’s battery and place it in the charger which you then plug to the wall. Due to the lack of a standardized time of charging, it would be safest to just place the battery charging overnight.

You can’t select the shutter speed directly. You chose the -mode- and the camera automatically chooses the shutter speed. For instance, for ‘anti-shake’ mode you get a nearer shutter speed. For ‘night’ mode you get a slower shutter speed.

You can download the manual here, BTW.

http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/noprint/L18_L16_ennoprint.pdf

On page 22 it shows where the shutter speed shows on the screen while shooting. On page 73 it shows how to print the shutter speed on prints.

The L18 is a simple point & shoot camera with no manual controls. About the best you can do is to try one of the Scene Mode options. e.g. for a nearer shutter speed you can select ‘Sports’, which will work best in excellent light. And for a slower shutter speed, you may maybe try any ‘Sunset’, ‘Dusk/Dawn’ or maybe ‘Night Landscape’ in low light (you may need to use a tripod).
