When using a Samsung 2.0 mega pixels digital camera when you make a video how do you get the sound to work?

Samsung digital camera

I have a Samsung MiniDV Digital Camera. My mainframe is a Sony Vaio. I took some videos from my horse show today, and I want to place the videos onto my mainframe. How do I do this please!
My camera doesn’t have a USB port.. which is ridiculous… but yeah.

You’ll need to capture the record via firewire – if your PC hasn’t already got one you’ll need to install a firewire card. They’re cheap, simple to install and readily available. I don’t know which mainframe you’ve got, so make sure you make the right choice between PCMCIA and Express cards – they’re not interchangeable.

You’ll also need a firewire cable. Most firewire cards use a 6 pin port, but Sony laptops usually have a 4 pin firewire port if they’ve got one at all. All MiniDV camcorders have a 4 pin port, so the cable will need to be any 4 pin to 4 pin or 4 pin to 6 pin.

Once everything’s connected you can capture and edit the record with Windows Movie Maker (should already be on your PC).

Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download record, your mainframe probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except maybe groundbreaking new) don’t come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to hold a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder. Make sure your camera is in playback mode.
Laptops need an empty bay for the firewire card, so if you don’t have an empty bay you are going to have a huge conundrum.
The fine print in your camcorder manual makes reference to firewire (ieee 1394) connection.
