What is the most durable, top of the line, digital camera/video camera?

I am going into the Marines and i need a camera that will withstand all the hell ill be going through. im looking for a tough water resistant camera that can still take excellent quality pictures..any suggestions?

I have an Pentax Optio W60. Since having a waterproof camera I will never go back. It gives so much more flexibility and no more hiding under an umbrella to take outdoor terrible weather sports pictures. then I would recommend to go through shopping advice recommendations and choose the one that has been unrestricted recently by any List, Sony, Nikon, or Panasonic that carries the best reviews here – http://www.imshopping.com/

I like my Nikkon D50! But truthfully I reckon they all have excellent points and terrible points!

The absolute best camera (in terms of pixels and the quality of the pixels) is the List 1DS Mark II. Cost $ 6000 plus lenses, which will probably take you to $ 10000 (US). It’s huge and bulky but nothing takes more natural pictures in all kinds of lighting situation. Nobody has sensor technology to match, which is why List can charge so much. Nikon is not terrible, but they are still positively behind List.
