What is a good 35mm adapter for my Canon GL2?

What is a good 35mm adapter for my Canon GL2?

I really like the SgPro’s look, but was wondering if anybody else has any suggestions as to what 35mm adapter I could get to achieve the shallow depth of field that will give me a film look.

for a fraction of the price you can get the same DOF effect with a dSLR in the movie mode.

OK so, I just bought the Canon GL2 but it won’t connect to my computer. It’s a USB cable and i tried the whole deleting root hubs thing and rebooting, but it’s still not detecting. If anyone with a Canon GL2 could explain how to do it, it’d be great.
By the way, I have a vista. And no firewire port. and i also have this “Canon digital video” thing with no manual, perhaps this could help…anyone?

Sorry, I’d love to help, but I’d need to know what OS you’re using. From the fact that it’s not working, I’d guess Vista?

If that’s the case, go to the Windows site and look at the drivers they have. If you can find one compatible with your camera, go ahead and download it. Contact customer support for your camera or look on their site to find out which drivers are compatible.

Edit: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=326&modelid=7512 might be able to help you. Vista has a lot of compatibility issues with outside hardware.

Check with Canon’s website for an updated driver for the camera and for an update for the camera’s software.

Here’s a link to a page for downloads and a pdf manual.

Wrong section — the Canon GL2 is a prosumer miniDV camcorder.

Even if you do manage to set up the USB connection you’ll still need a IEEE 1394 (Firewire) connection to digitize video recorded on the tape. The USB connection, like all miniDV camcorders, is only available for transfering stills and video clips recorded on memory cards (Secure Digital, in this case). And because the GL2 is so huge you’re better off using a memory card reader for this task.

If you insist on connecting your GL2 to your computer via USB then you should try to install the driver included on the CD. Is the camera turned on and in the right mode? Is there anything in the SD slot?

Let me know if you’re interested in getting footage off the tape. This doesn’t seem to be the topic of your question so I’ll leave it alone.
