What is the best brand of computer?

What is the best brand of computer?

my parents say to go on cunsumer reports befor i buy one but i am not registerd so i was wondering if anyone has gone on consumer reports and knows what the best type is
THANKS!!!

Well, Consumer Reports charges. That’s how they pay their bills and guarantee really independant reports. If you want their opinion, it’d be best just to spend the small bit of money on their subscription. I mean, you’re about to blow about $ 1000 on a new computer; spending even $ 50 on a small research wouldn’t be atrophied :)

I don’t have a Consumer Reports subscription any, but from my personal experience, I’d recommend an HP or a Dell for most public.

You wont get a right answer from anyone on here because public are very biased when it comes to computers. To be honest, you truely can’t go incorrect with any of the major brands out there.

If I had to choose a major brand, it would be HP
If I didn’t have to choose a major brand it would be,

http://www.ibuypower.com

They make custom computers for gamers and are way better and cheaper than Alien Ware.

yeah i agree with Skor…public are usually biased as far as brands go
and honestly most are all very similar as far as quality goes…look more for what features are vital to you….

ie ram, processor speed, upgradeability, etc

All my desktop computers are units I built for myself but my notebook is a Gateway and I have been very pleased with it and would get one again.

apple/mac. NO QUESTION.

Give your answer to this question below!

Apple designs and sell the best laptops in the world today. With the software already built-in in the computer, the Windows PC computer are equal in price. The Apple mainframe is more stable and is simpler to operate. The new duel core Apple mainframe is one of the fastest on the planet. The support for Apple is rated the best by Consumer Reports. The Apple is spyware and adware free and virus free(except for a small worm which nearly nobody got. Why do public even consider buying a Windows mainframe? Windows platform is ancient and the new OS won’t even be out until 2007. Then you will have so many bugs the machine will have even more distress. Give me ONE reason to buy a Windows machine.

Answer by junior1544
well, the one reason you questioned for…

I use windows pc’s because they are much simpler to write programs for… I started brainwashing on a comadore 128, and then have kept at it till now… windows is much more ‘buggy’ because it’s so open for a developer… I can do just about anything that can be done with a computer with windows and a compiler… where as with apple, i’d need specialized software for any application, and it would be much harder to make my own stuff…

Answer by norm
One reason – Compatibility. Nearly everyone is running a PC machine most with Windows OS world wide. No one will buy an Apple & bring it home to find incompatibilities with their existing files and software.

Unfortionately, Apple is the Beta of the record tape wars. Beta was better but VHS won the war. The same is right of Apple. They are better but they are losing the war. The PC has such a lead it will never be overcome.

Answer by BossofBosses
I have an Apple G4 17 and I absolutely like it because of all the reasons you said, and then some. Norm’s answer was brilliant because Apple is a better operating machine but Microsoft is larger, which in new this world earnings better. Depending on what you’re into you may need both machines to take benefit of both systems strengths.

One word:

compatibility

Answer by davidis99
Two reasons – compatibility, and availability of applications. Offices generally buy Windows PCs to run Microsoft Office, which, though available for Mac, is not as bug-free on a Mac as it is on Windows. For maximum compatibility with customers and internally, businesses choose to run Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint on Windows, because it’s the dominant platform for office applications. Consumers choose Windows because they want to be compatible with their jobs, they want their children’s computers to be compatible with the ones in school (which are, at this point, overwhelmingly Windows), and because their is a huge range of games and learning software available for Windows that isn’t there for Mac.
