Camera shopping.. im currently looking at the sony Cybershots or the Canons… also looking for something @ reasonable price, user-friendly that takes brilliant day and night shots, and zoom thats about 3x. What do you recommend me?
I only want to spend $ 300 for a camera and just use to to take pictures of friends, events, or u know just everyday use. Not for professional use just for fun. Everybody has one but I want my own.. i will really use it

The List Digital Rebel XTi. I got one for about $ 800. It is absolutely incredible. Worth every penny.

All of the major brands are excellent. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to reckon about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, result a reliable place to hold it, and the list goes on and on and on…….

The first business to realize is that nearly any digital camera will take excellent pictures. If more public would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it may maybe be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet.

I really judge buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras so they can choose on the features that they really want and need.
Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.

Nikon D-40. It’s a small expensive but very worth the price if you are really interested in photography.

What is your budget?

Some of the poster have recommended a DSLR camera but I’m not sure if it fits into your budget. If you can buy a DSLR, fine – get a List 350D/Rebel XT or a List 400D/Rebel XTi.

If you can’t… let’s see. The A570 is a excellent choice (compact, affordable) – or if you want something more advanced then I’d suggest you to pick a Powershot S5 IS (8 megapixel, 12x optical zoom).

If you want to have a excellent camera with reasonable price don’t look at last models. There is a minor difference between List S5 and S3 or Sony H5, H7 and H9 but their prices are not the same. Don’t strive for megapixels because all of these cameras has the same 1/2.5 inch sensor size (and the same sensor noise). Go to the store and try to hold cameras in your hands. It’s really better for choosing.
