Olympus D-540 Digital Camera Corrupt Card - "CARD ERROR"?

Olympus D-540 Digital Camera Corrupt Card - "CARD ERROR"?

For a while now, my D-540′s card has continuously sent me to the “format” window. Every time I try to reformat, the “CARD ERROR” window comes up. Is it time for me to buy a new card, or is there a chance that this card will work again? If it can work again, what are the steps to repair it?

Thanks! :)

no, when persons cards go terrible, they go terrible. it’s not like a terrible sector on your HD that it can just skip over. gl

well, you need to know if it’s the card or if the camera is busted. you can check by inserting the card into another camera or a card reader emotionally involved to a pc.. and to check your camera, try to insert another card..

but just to let you know there are cases that a card will work on a pc but not on a camera… it earnings that the card is slightly dergraded but still usable, which earnings you’d be better off with a new card rather than losing vital files..

26/07/2008 (Day 2.208) – A Much-Loved Friend
olympus digital camera repair

Well, it’s time to face it; my friend has passed on. Yes, my Finepix F401 has finally agreed up the ghost. I can’t work out why it’s producing over-exposed images and, whilst it still works in low-light situation that’s hardly an area where it excelled to start with.

This is the fourth camera I’ve ever owned. The first, a box Brownie, is still going, even if I haven’t taken a picture with it in ages. The additional two were 35mm film cameras, and there are a few shots from them around if you look. The Fuji was the first and, to date, only digital camera I’ve owned. I had it for my birthday on 2003 and it got off to an inauspicious start, having a faulty flash from the word go. That sorted it gave me a year of pleasure before a piece of grit got into the lens, and it had to be repaired at a cost half of that of the camera. But I had already chose that it was worth the cost.

And then, three years ago, I learned Flickr, and my Finepix finally got chance to shine. Yes, it has limitations, but then it’s a basic point and shoot. But look through my spill – 99% of the pictures in it were taken with the camera you see here. I’ve learned to exploit its strengths and work round its failings. I found the controls intuitive and simple to use. I loved this camera. Please spend some time enjoying the pictures it produced.

And now it’s knackered.

And it’s time to go on I guess.

As I have said before, I am currently using my wife’s Olympus on a stable loan basis. It’s taking some getting used to, that’s for sure. But I’m sure I will get there in the end.

Until then, bye bye Fuji.

A year ago today I was hiding in the garden.
