I'm looking for a compact digital camera...?

I'm looking for a compact digital camera...?

and I’m not sure which kind is the best to buy. I’d like something small enough to fit in my purse. I have a Nikon Coolpix L4 right now which I really like..but I’ve read some terrible reviews about the Coolpix L18, which is what I’d be interested in. I’ve also always really liked Kodak Easyshares…they are also relatively inexpensive. Help!!

Any suggestions would be VERY appreciated!!

Even if I do not OWN the List SD 1100, I did a bunch of research, and C-NET named it ‘the best compact camera’. I’m very interested in buying it because of that, and also because I all ready have an ancient model that never lets us down =]. It takes brilliant quality photographs, and I’m sure the SD 1100 is even more advanced than my ancient one. Excellent Luck; Pleased Searching!

What do you reckon? Answer below!

I’m reduction up to buy a compact digital camera this x-mas and I just want THE BEST. Not a DSLR or sth, i’m not a professional but I do use cameras a lot. I saw the Sony HX5 and liked it (cause of EXMOR) but I am not sure if it’s the best for its price. Minimum requirements: 10MP, 10x optical zoom, not crappy lens, 720p recording, excellent macro.

Is Sony G lens better than Carl Zeiss?

I saw a Fujifilm with 12MP and 15x zoom: http://digital-cameras.toptenreviews.com/compact/fujifilm-usa/fujifilm-finepix-f300exr-review.html
Is there anything better?

Thanks a lot.
Forgot to mention I take photos of fish, so it’s excellent to be excellent at quick moving objects without the use of flash.

* Dual Image Stabilization
* Capture movies in HD quality 720p resolution
* 3.0-inch high-contrast LCD and Electronic View Finder
