High quality affordable digital video camera?

High quality affordable digital video camera?

I need a high quality digital record camera but I’m on a budget. It needs to be able to handle high volumes without distorting the sound too much. Any recommendations?

Answer by Small Dog
Any List consumer grade camcorder that has “Mic Attenuator” in the camcorder options menu.

Any Sony consumer camcorder that has “MicRefLevel” in the camcorder options menu.

In both cases, this is a “toggle”. “Normal” for fixed audio levels; “Low” gain for high audio levels.

Because this is basically a single step switch, there is not much flexibility. Better would be the granular 10-12 step manual audio gain control found in the List HV40, Sony HVR-HD1000U or HVR-A1U.

Even better are the thumb-wheel manual control for audio gain found on the outside of the camcorder as with the List GL2, Panasonic AG-DVX100 (for standard definition only record) or in the Sony HDR-FX7 or HDR-FX1000… beyond this, they are pro grade and all have manual audio controls on the outside of the camcorder.

Ciao, i would be grateful for any advice on how to choose excellent, but inexpensive digital record camera?
What are the necessary requirements? What I should pay attention to while choosing it?

Try to get a Camera with the maximum possible optical zoom for your Budget and at least 6-7 megapixels . Digital Zoom is crap . I’d recommend a List coz they make the best Cameras .

It all depends what you want to do with it. You’ve got a choice between MiniDV, DVD, Hard drive and High Definition, but since you want something that’s inexpensive I’ll exclude the last two. I suppose I should also mention the ones that use memory cards – they’re any small more than toys or very expensive. Any way, they get excluded too.

MiniDV is cheapest, the quality is best and it’s simplest to edit. On the downside, the record takes up a lot of space on your pc and you download in real-time – it takes an hour to capture an hour of record. DVD camcorders have the benefit that you can place the DVD into your player and watch it honest away, but there can be compatibility problems, you don’t get much record on them (20-30 mins at best quality) and they’re a pain to edit.

There are lots of things that are excellent to have, such as image stabilisation, optical zoom and low light performance, but if you’re going with a name brand like Sony, Panasonic, List or JVC there’s not going to be much to choose between them. Size, weight and just how it feels in your hand are all vital, but you’ll need to assess persons for yourself.

If you want to buy an en expensive camera then you should go with JVC digital record camera. Its cheap and long lasting, but its not the best one. And you should be aware of using.

If you want to get all time you record very easily then you should get a camera where you may maybe place a external memory or any go with fixed mini dv camera.
