Digital Camera-Waterproof-and brand suggestion?

i am looking for a waterproof digital camera. I just need a camera that i can wash it with soap when it gets dirty. I am “NOT” looking for persons diving camera, such as Olympus 790sw. I just need an- Anti-Water Digital Camera, Does anyone have excellent suggestion?

Sanyo, Olympus and Pentax are the companies make waterproof cameras. Olympus 790sw is just waterproof up to 10 ft deep. It is not meant for diving.

I have seem the one of the Olympus waterproof camera in a photographic gear show and they let each visitor to drop it into water once and it still worked.

i got one of the olympus stylus 850 SW cameras (the waterproof/shockproof one) for christmas and i have been before a live audience around with it…and when i take a picture it makes a eerie perky noise…it sounds like it is coming from the lens but i dont know…is it supposed to do that or is there something incorrect with it?

I have the same camera and it probably the sound it makes when its focusing on the object you’re taking a picture of. try pressing the button you use to take the picture, half way down(NOT all the way so that you take a picture), and if it makes that noise, its def. focusing its lens.

it may maybe be a baggy gear, a small grain of sand in the lens (that’s terrible it ruined my panasonic fz18. It cold also have a flaw in the aperature. These are things you kind of have to be there to distinguish. None of the problems are excellent and if it’s new I’d recommend getting a replacement before it’s too late. Olympus will get it back to you pretty quick.

it is most likely the sound from the lens focusing. mine does the same- it’s not uncommon, and it’s certainly not something to worry about.
