First off, right camcorder-quality record is any 24 or 30 fps. So, at 15 fps, the record you take with your digital camera will look choppy and glitchy.
Second, you mentioned your camera is 6.1 megapixels. This is a excellent resolution for photos, but with digital cameras, the megapixel resolution has absolutely nothing to do with the record quality.
Also, The record size on digital cameras has an impact on the quality of it as well. For example, man digital cameras take record at 320 x 240 resolution, or QVGA. But, some newer cameras are starting to record record at twice that size- 640 x 480, or VGA. This will influence the quality of your record because when watching it on a computer, you will have to blow up QVGA record to twice its size in order to get it to equal VGA record, thus losing ground its quality. Also, when watching record on a TV, QVGA will look nothing like camcorder-quality record, while VGA might be just acceptable.
Any way, digital cameras aren’t really calculated to take record, nor is it their primary purpose. So, if you want excellent record quality, you should probably invest in a real digital camcorder.

Also, there are several cameras out now that
are the size of a record camera, yet incoporate both a camcorder and digital camera lens in one. Below is just one model:

But, some still don’t have the best quality record, nor the best features of a right digital camera.
Bottom line, if you want high quality, a separate camcorder and digital camera may be the best choice.
And so, for most applications, 15 fps record from a digital camera can’t even be compared to record from a real camcorder.

Want to buy a camera and was wondering if I’d get a bargain as I passed through. Cheers

90 minutes is more than enough, but these will not be cheaper at the airport, you may get a temp visa and spend your time to Mustafa’s to get a real classic peice at a excellent price.

Yes you might. Especially if you arm yourself with a price list beforehand. Check with your community distributors that they will honor international warranties for camera hold overseas. In the mad rush make sure they pack the camera in front of you. You certaintly don’t want to bring home an empty box.

Im from Singapore and i sure know that our airport gives a excellent service =) But .. the prices there are a small higher then what you can find in town or elsewhere in Singapore =P but if you cant get out.. might as well shop around the airport.. there are loads of things to see there … pleased shopping ~

this option may maybe be expensive right you may get the camera cheaper in singapore but then take into account you may have to pay at any agreed airport customs fees that will happen when you get back to the UK with these fees the camera you hold may not be such a bargain plus there is the issue of warranty would the company offer a warranty valid in the uk and then finally there is compatibility issues regarding voltage and gear supplied

like the rest, i judge if you have the opportunity to come out, you can try mustafa or sim lim square. i am not sure if the cameras at the airport would be ‘cheap’, but they should not be too unreasonably priced.

pleased shopping !
