Digital Camera Expertise Required - anything to suggest?

Digital Camera Expertise Required - anything to suggest?

I am looking for a new digital camera and need your help! I come from a long line of Nikon Coolpix (so far very pleased) and have toyed with the thought of going back to SLR. After much debate I’ve chose I’m pleased with a point and shoot, but with zoom life one of the top items on my list I investigated the new List SX100 and the Sony H3. I brought the List home last night and was very disappointed. While yes, the zoom is incredible, the delay between shots when using the flash is absolutely unacceptable, as is the delay with the continuous shot. Reviews for the Sony state the same issues with flash delay so I’ve ruled persons two options out. With that, this is my criteria:
-Rapid continuous shot (2.5 frames/sec min)
-Small flash recharge time
-Excellent optical zoom
-Rechargable lit-io battery
-Quality pictures in low-lighting situations (this is my one complaint about coolpix)
-Compact to take anywhere
-Min 6 MP (I do lots of enlargements)
-Approx $ 200-250
Any suggestions?Thx.

Try the List Powershot SD750. It shoots pretty quickly, it has a small flash recharge time, 3x optical zoom, it takes a custom rechargeable lithium battery pack, it has ISO 1600 to sharpen pictures in low light situations, it is very compact, it has 7.1 megapixels, and it costs $ 250.

Here is the link to List’s web page for the Powershot SD750:

You won’t be pleased with point and shoots. You are going to have to bite the bullet and get a digital SLR, IMHO. Pretty much your requirements for low-light shooting and a quick frame rate knock point and shoots out of the ring.

I suggest looking for a used digital SLR; at 6mp, you may be able to find a used Nikon D100, List D60, or Fujfilm S2 Pro at/near your price requirements.

I have a list S3 IS for myself and I reckon it suits all your requirements and price. The next one in the series should be better too – List S5 IS.

- It has excellent shutter speed,
- quick flash and excellent range too
- 12X optical zoon (wow business! :) )
- supports rechargeable battery and runs for upto 400 shots or 2 hrs of record.
- low light picture quality is ok, record is terrible.
- not ultra compact but beyond doubt a lot less bulky than SLRs
- 6MP
- $ 239 and u might get some deals right now too..

You can check out what experts from multiple sites say abt it here – http://www.reviewgist.com/digital-camera/review-Canon_PowerShot_S3_IS_Digital_Camera#details

I’d probably go for the Olympus…The Sony is nice too.

Persons two cameras are completely different. The Sony is a DSLR which allows you to hold different lenses. The additional is basically a high quality point and shoot. Do you know how to use a DSLR camera on full manual mode? If not then get the additional one.
