Best Digital Cameras For Archaeology Student?

Best Digital Cameras For Archaeology Student?

Ciao! I am a Master’s candidate in Archaeology and I’m looking for a digital camera. I’m not looking for something super-specialized or professional grade but I was hoping someone out there (maybe an archaeologist or a CRM specialist) would have some advice as to which one to get.

It doesn’t have to be top-line and I’m only looking to spend about 300 dollars at most but I want it to take record and give me excellent enough resolution to take thesis/presentation grade photos.

Any advice as to technical specs I would want or specific models would be fantastic.

Thanks!

I suggest the list a570 or sx100

Extend a the budget by a bit and go for fujifilm finepix s 9600

http://www.fujifilm.com/harvest/digital_cameras/s/finepix_s9600/index.html

olympus sp 550 uz can also be a excellent choice. this is available at around 300 dollars.

both cameras have a excellent wide zoom equivalent to 28mm. both have excellent resolution and fine zoom range. excellent resolution helps not to smear out small details. excellent zoom enables you take close shots of vital things, may be something written or designs on some pots etc.

you beyond doubt need a join camera since compacts won’t work excellent for u n slr u can’t afford. list a570 is a excellent camera though u would need to spend around 3 thousand dollars. so look for persons i suggested you

Take a excellent look at the List G9. It focuses to 1cm and has “Movie Mode”. IMO you’ll beyond doubt want the close-focusing capabilities. Plus it supports an off-camera flash (List offers models several for it) and that may maybe be useful.

I already questioned this question in the camera section, but I have a feeling i’ll get more responses here :p

I need a nice digital camera that takes high-quality pictures.

-pictures come out apparent, espescially without flash

-is simple to use

-also records videos

-compact (small and cute) or a normal camera, I am open… but small enough to fit into a purse or tote bag

- not more than $ 450

i’m beyond doubt not a professional photographer, i’m just taking pictures of my family and friends and pictures to post on MySpace and Facebook

thanks guys :)
