is there a website where I can compare up to 8 digital cameras/slrs - specs not just price?
Answer by Kayla B
Nope, not that I know of. I would just have 8 different tabs open with each camera in a different tab and equate them that way. That’s what I did when I was searching for my DSLR.
I also wrote down the main specs on a separate sheet of paper just to be a small more organized. You could also print out pages about the camera specs and equate them that way.
Excellent luck!

Well really there is. This is a retailer but they have all the specs listed for the cameras they sell.

Lily and glide
The motif
When we were climbing through the Oetschergraeben, we found this lily. As I like flowers I had to take a picture, even that I didn’t have a macro. Without noticing it I managed to catch a glide on this shot as well. This was a amusing bolt from the blue when we got the pictures back from enhancement.
Technical
Taken with a Canon EOS 100 on Kodak Royal Gold 200. I had to shoot with the 35-105 as I had no macro then, all the other lenses were even worse when closing up. Scanned with Reflecta ProScan 4000 at 3600 dpi. Postproduction only for denoising and automatic color corrections to remove the mask from the negative-film. Even that it seems to be very saturated I didn’t make any adjustment to it.
About shooting on negative film
There are three problems when shooting on film compared to shooting digital. First one is related to the fact that it is rather expensive, so you don’t make many pictures of the same motive. Second one is that you simply cannot control what you got. You just can estimate if the shutterspeed and gap suits the motive. It is an extremly hard job to do if you can only check the result a few days later, because there is no chance to reshoot. Third conundrum is related to the scanning process. Even the best films are very grainy compared to digital cameras. Shooting with the 350D at 1600 gives a result that is less noisy than shooting on an ISO 100 film and scanning it. Worse the noise doesn’t follow a pattern, so you cannot easily extract it. Therefore scanned pictures are either extremly noisy or if you chose to filter everything out, they are not sharp (and still noisy).
I want to buy a new digital camera, but it’s a very hard choice. Is there a website everywhere i can select the features i want i.e the brand name, optical zoom, mega pixels and shutter speed.. and then the search results appear so that i can equate between them ?
I searched for some sites but none of them were any help
Any suggestions ?

A bit dated but try in your local library Dec ’09 Consumer Reports. Also try Website dpreview.com
I suggest the Fuji S1800 or Fuji S1600. Both have very excellent image quality, very excellent on batteries, both have viewfinder and gap/shutter priority with plenty of optical zoom. I believe Buydig had the S1800 for $ 169+shipping.

I have a Sony Cybershot and its incredible! Try going on the Sony website and look at stuff, but then you can obviously only equate Sony cameras. Or try Google, type in something like: Sony Vs. Samsung. Possibly a comparing website will come up.
EDIT: Or go to a store that sells cameras, the people who work at the camera department can help you.
Hope I helped!
