What should I be looking for when buying a digital video/still camera?

What should I be looking for when buying a digital video/still camera?

I want a digital camera that can also shoot video with fantastic clearity, and that can be place onto the computer.

I have no thought what Megapixels are, and what they do, or even if they matter, so if someone could tell me what megapixels are that’d help me a lot.

Also, how much memory should i be looking for? A lot of camera’s that hold mp3s, videos, and pictures say they hold 16MB, that’s not much memory, is it?

Also, my price range is $ 150, just incase you want to post some cameras.

Thanks in enhancement!

Megapixels are how excellent the resolution of the camera is.I Iike optical zoom.for instance I have a kodak digital with a 5.o megapixel and a 12x optical zoom cost me $ 420.00 but it is a fantastic camera.

my camera is an olympus. it has 4 megapixels. megapixels are the quality of a picture. it takes excellent still images and pretty excellent movies. i got it for $ 145. i reckon pretty much all cameras come with a usb cord. a usb cord downloads pics to the computer. my camera can hold about 100 pictures.
hope i helped!

unless you are wanting to print any pics larger than 8 X 10 inches then 2.0 meg. will be all you need and as far as the zoom goes dont get a huge digital and no optical. optical is the actual lens zooming and digital is just the camera enlarging the image

I have a JVC Digital Video Camera and im trying to get the videos i take to go on the computer. It takes tapes for the video, but it uses a memory card for the “stills”, or pictures it takes. (it has a USB port for the memory card)

Delight Help..Thanks

Video requires a Firewire cable. You capture from within the editor.

while trying to get video of a wild octopus, it suddenly dashed towards me and rips my shiny new camera from out of my hands, then swims off, all while the camera is recording! he swam away very quickly like a naughty shoplifter. after a 5 minute chase, I placed my speargun underneath him and he quickly and curiously grabbed hold of the gun as well, charitable me enough time to reach in and grab the camera from out of his mouth. I didn’t feel threatened at all during the whole ordeal. he seemed to be fixated on the shiny metallic blue digital camera. the only confusing behavior was how he dashed off with it like a thief haha. cheeky octopus. songs by: Vincent Gillioz – Car Chase Dalmatian Rex and the Eigentones – Octopus I Like You thanks for watching, and remember life is too small to spend it in front of a tv or at the shopping mall……get out there and live it up! these moments of beauty exist each single second in scenery. like, vic
