Sony Cyber-shot H1/H2, Canon PowerShot S2 IS, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 which is the best buy?
Hi,
I am thinking about buy a digital camera and have freezed down to three after reading about them all over the internet. My three choices are:
Sony Cyber-shot H1/H2
Canon PowerShot S2 IS
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5/7
Could someone delight take up my issues:
Which one will provide me the best picture quality?
Is the memory stick vital to be used with the Sony a conundrum as far as te cost is concerned?
How excellent is the image stabilization when on th full zoom with the Sony? Is it better or equivalent to the Panasonic and Cannon?
Does the battery pack available for the panasonic lumix stand to go out of production after some time?
Other than the zooming and clicking pictures while filming a movie with the Cannon is there anything special it offers compared to the other two?
What is the maximum movie time I can record with either of the cameras in the buck quality settings on 1 GB of memory?
Any personal comments?
Should i wait for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1. It gives me all?

I already have digital cameras in anticipation of I learned the flaw of their main part called CCD. Once the CCD malfuntion appears, the picture displays distorted and sometimes nothing at all. You cannot use it anymore, you then have to buy another NEW camera. Spent so much on 5 models and all of them after less than two being give me the same headache no matter what brand.

Hands down canon s2 is, simple to use idiot proof,or highly advanced depending on your skill. Fantastic features , sd card instead of Sony’s high priced memory card, 12 times zoom works fantastic movies are out of this world excellent for a camera. 100% canon s2is or for 100 bucks more the s3is!

I’m gonna go with Tim on this. I’ve seen the Canon and man is it nice. I bought a Kodak Digital camera for like 400 bucks last year and I thought mine was nice in anticipation of I saw this one. So, Canon would be my choice. I also like the SD cards. Inexepensive compared to others.

Depends on what format you want to get.
Here is a link explaining which are best.
http://www.hdtvorg.co.uk/guide/hdvideo/hd_video_buying.htm
what do you need it for, general video such as family and friends, or a more selected use.
Nedia card and HDD (hard drive) camera are the simplest to get onto your computer to edit, but need a quick computer to edit the video, Mini-DVD dont bother with, Mini-DV (tape) slow to capture to the computer but the editing is simple and the fottage is as excellent as it was taken.
your budget covers all the formats.
Excellent luck
