Capturing HD Video Using Consumer Camera?
I have a camera that I use to shoot HD video, and now I’m about to get a consumer camera (PANASONIC PV-GS19 MINI DV CAM) that I wanted to use to capture the tapes to my editing program. Will it still do this if the consumer camera is not HD?
Answer by NYC fan
The PV-GS19 is a standard definition camera that will ONLY play back MiniDV tapes recorded in the standard definition DV format.
HDV-formatted tapes will NOT play in the PV-GS19.

I would say you would have difficulty getting more than 45 minutes of HD video on 80 GB.

www.rickcable.com My unboxing of the Panasonic HDC-TM15. As a bonus at the end of the video I included the complete song “Away we go” by The Craved which you may recognize as my intro music. A BIG THANK YOU to Clint Morin, the founder of The Craved, for allowing me to use his music. The Craved have a lot of fantastic songs and you can find them online at www.rhapsody.com
