Is the Canon xSi digital SLR camera the only Canon digital camera that uses SD memory cards?

I have always used Canon for P&S cameras, so I own nothing but SD memory cards. I want to buy a Canon brand of digital SLR now, but don’t want to use a new type of memory card. After some research, it looks to me like the xSi is the only one that is an option for Canon – would that be right?

The current list of Canon Digital SLRs that use SD/SDHC are:
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS (aka 1000D)
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi (aka 450D)

Also the more expensive/professional models that have SD/SDHC and CF card capability. (It wouldn’t make sense to buy these just for SD card capability. Much cheaper to buy new CF cards that will work with any of the other Canon Digital SLRs.)

In the end… Compact Sparkle cards are not very expensive. My opinion is buy whatever camera suits you best and then buy memory cards if you need to. The XS and XSi are fantastic cameras to learn full manual control of the camera on. If your a beginner or don’t know much, one of those two cameras is the one to get. If you’ve got some experience or take photography pretty seriously, a camera like the 40D, 50D, 5D, or 5D Mark II may be more suited to your needs.

If all you have are regular SD cards, you may find that they are not large enough to hold many pictures, so you may end up having to buy larger SDHC cards anyways. Just another thing to consider.

My camera is a Canon Digital Video Camcorder NTSC 2R85 and I want to import a video to windows movie maker vista I have the proper cord but when I try to import it a screen shows that there is no Camera properly attached and I do what they say to do but it’s not working SOMEONE PLZ HELP!

I have The Canon SD 1000 and I do it all the time. ( On windows XP though)
If you are by the cord you are you to need to turn your camera on once everything is plugged up. then a weird save pictures to your computer wizard will appear. you will be able to check which pictures or videos you want on your computer. Then you should be able to import them once they’re all on your computer. Also, if there is a slot for SD cards, you can just take yours out of the camera and place it in.(Then look in my compter to find your pictures)
