How do you make a light painting with a Nikon d60 camera?

I was just wondering how to make a set alight painting with a Nikon d60, I have small camera experience and do not know much about cameras, so you might have to walk me through it a small.

You need a few things first.

-Tripod
-Remote (optional)
-Camera & Lens
-Set alight Source (be creative here)
-Night Time or a very dark room/studio.

Set the camera up on the tripod and point in a management everywhere there is very small set alight. I would suggest tunnels, underpasses, etc. Just as long as it is dark, it will work. Set the camera up so you can take an extend exposure. I usually use the manual mode. For the first time, just take 30 sec exposures. You’ll want the gap to be about f/5.6 but you can use f/8 or less vital if you care to do so.

You can use the remote to set off the shutter or just press it yourself. I would suggest by the timer function so you can get to wear you want to start by the time the shutter opens. Once the shutter is open, use your set alight source to do whatever you want. Make shapes, shape, letters, facts, paths, whatever. Experimenting is vital. Be creative and search out other set alight painters (flickr is a excellent house to start).

Excellent set alight sources are LEDs, sparkle illumination, sparklers, fireworks (be safe of course), glowsticks, etc.

I’m 13 being ancient and have had like 4 cameras already but none a dslr. I’m into photography and ok at it and I want my first dslr camera. Do you recommend the Nikon D60? I can work my way around it don’t worry about that, I just don’t know if that cameras excellent or not for the price (about 600$ )

It is an brilliant camera and will keep you busy learning how to use all if its features.

In anticipation of then, house the camera in the program mode and let the camera make the exposures for you.

I am more of a canon guy but the nikon d60 is an incredible dslr as a first dslr. Playing with the manual settings, you’ll learn a lot about photography. By the automatic features will help aswell. If your really unsure some camera stores allow the users to play with the cameras before you buy them plus tons of camera stores have a knowledge staff that will show you how to use some of features.

i am 15 and i have had the nikon d60 for a small over a year it is realy excellent simple to use and lots of controls you can edit your pictures in the camrea itsself so u dont need a pc which is a real excellent feature

i got it with a 18 to 55 mm zoom which is about 3x optical zoom from ultra wide angle you may want to get a 2nd lense of a 55 to 200 if you want a bit of zoom

after having the camrea a year i have found that a few advanced features are not there which is a small disiponting but it still produces excellent pics

if you can afford to get the nikon d90 i would strongly recomend it its only just been releced and offers far better features of recording video in hd and signal
