Do digital cameras and memory cards need to be removed from carry on luggage, and placed in a bin?

Do digital cameras and memory cards need to be removed from carry on luggage, and placed in a bin?

It says on the TSA website “Laptop computers and video cameras with cassettes must be removed from their carrying cases and placed in one of the bins provided.” Do I need to do the same with my digital camera (and memory cards) or can I just leave them in my bag?

Thanks!

You can leave your camera and memory cards in your bag. I travel numerous times a year and have never had my camera out for inspection through security.

you can just house your camera in the bin you dont have to remove the memory card
from the camera

don’t remove the memory card. it may get lost in the shuffle. leave the camera in the case. just house it in the bin. the xray will see what it is.

I’ll need to download pics of items I want to sell to my computer, then upload them to e-bay. Would the inexpensive digital cameras do the job?

Answer by Stuart N
yes. all you need is a USB plug and cable. plug it in and you should be able too open up youre pictures through My Computer in the start menu. in My Computer it should have the name of youre camera. when youve found the pictures just click and drag them too youre my pictures folder or whatever folder you wish to store them in

Most, if not all digital cameras come with USB cords for that function, of all the cameras i’ve had, i’ve never seen one that didn’t have a USB cable. Yes, it will come with a USB cable, and you will be able to upload them to the computer.

But whose going to buy your pictures taken from an inexpensive camera?

Baldwin County courthouses get security upgrades thanks to federal grant
BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Upgrades to security cameras and access control systems are under way at the Baldwin County Law court in Bay Minette. The upgrades, also plotted for the satellite courthouses in Fairhope and Foley, come courtesy of a $ 500,000 grant from the Department of Justice, according to David Pimperl, communications and information services director for Baldwin County.
