like i said…if you can suggest something else in my price range, please do!

I own this camera. For the price range it is a nice mix between a point-and-shoot and some manual features. If you like to be able to control more aspects of your picture, but don’t want an $ 800+ camera, this is a nice choice.

A nice little camera but no where near a professional camera.

The feature that made me buy this camera was its image stabilization system. Friends who use digital cameras professionally all told me that Canons optical image stabilized zoom system was the best in its price range. Due to a slowly worsening tremor, this has evolved into an important issue.

The digital zoom is amazingly effective. Recently, I caught a game at Fenway Park. My seat was adjacent to the infamous “Green Monster”. From that distance, I was able to take photos of players at bat, that captured detailed facial features. I was even able to get some very respectable images of players in action.

The camera settings are easy to use, and equally easy to access. The Auto setting is fairly idiot proof and does a good job under a wide variety of conditions. I found the SX110 to be solid, well built yet still small enough to fit into a laptop carrying bag.

I never imagined that I would buy anything other than a Nikon, but now I think this was one of the best purchases that I have made in a long time. It delivers on its promises, producing pictures whose quality rivals those of much more expensive digital cameras.

I would highly recommend this camera and I wish you happy shooting!

I’m writing a paper for my analytical writing class, and I’m supposed to be writing about professional photographers using Nikon or Canon. I need to know how many of you professionals shoot with Nikon, and how many shoot with Canon?

I Shoot with Canon for hangouts/parties and Nikon for Professional Photographs

As a sportsphotographer, I see Canon and Nikon on the sidelines. There’s more Canons (currently) at pro events like NBA, WNBA, NFL, MLB, etc. But the count goes towards Nikon at NCAA (college) and high school sports.

Personally, I shoot with Nikon, because Nikon’s practice of making their digital pro-level cameras backwards compatible, allowed me to use every Nikon-mount lens I’ve ever owned since the 1970s.

You’ll also find that most photographers will stick with one system, through thick and thin, because of their huge investment in “glass” (lenses)

Canon – hobby / semi pro

Answer by Sprinter
Jim A is NOT a pro, he only has a basic toy-ish dSLR. He is just bigoted and is crazy about an obsolete Canon.
