Q&A: Sony DSC-W55 7.2-Megapixel Digital Camera?
Buying this camera alone without additional memory sticks, how many pictures only can be stored? And how much will additional memory sticks would cost considering the diffrentiation of the memory space and what is the comparison between the Gbs and number of photos and price?
Answer by king
I have the DSC-W50 myself (which is 6 megapixel), but I think this generally applies to most cameras. It depends on the resolution pictures are taken at: a higher resolution results in fewer pictures, a lesser resolution produces more pictures.
As far as memory sticks go, larger memory sticks have the ability to store more pictures and, therefore, are more expensive. What it boils down to is: how frequently you use (or plan on using) your camera.

External dual flash, manual mode, bridge Sony digital camera.
I have been looking at the mid sized digital cameras with 6 mega pix … I like the Canon and Sony cameras the best but have a hard time deciding. What are the best and worst features of each camera.

i work at a store that sells cameras and all the salesmen (and women) prefer canons to sonys. we return a lot fewer canons and sell a lot more. i like cameras that take batteries, and when the screen isn’t too big (big screen will cause a lot of glare if you want to take pictures outside on a sunny day). i want to get the canon a530. its small and has decent optical zoom.

Personally I would go with Canon over Sony. Canon’s cameras have been proven time and time again by professional photographers and the quality is carried over into their consumer level cameras. They are most known for their optical devices particularly cameras where sony is a company that tries to make far more electronic devices so can not spend as much on improving quality of their product as canon do. No offence to sony, I think they still make excellent cameras etc, but compared to canon for cameras, a canon would easily be my choice.

I can’t tell you much about the Sony Cybershot but I have the Canon Powershot.. and I know about 5 other people that own it too. It’s really great because it’s small and easy to take places. It takes good pictures and Canon is known to be a good brand. The worst part about the camera is that the zoom is not good at all since the camera is so small.

I would recommend going to some of the ratings and reviews sites for user and profession opinions. I have owned both makes and all my Canon’s are still working (the oldest is over 10 years old) and none of the Sony’s are functional. You decide.
