Just got the nikon coolpix s550 memory card question?
Ok, so I just got it yesterday and I haven’t gotten a new memory card yet. Right now it only really can hold about 30 pictures and I want to be able to get a lot of pictures. How big of a memory card should I get?
Answer by masticina
I think that you find that 2Gbyte is the cheap “Medium” of the market right now. That will do fine JPG files of modern cameras are usually 2-3Mbyte big [depending on model, settings, situation etc] and that means that about 800-1000 pictures is possible.
It is cheap enough and it might be interesting to invest in a memory card that has a speed rating. Those are assured speedy..

Don’t worry about the speedy ones, your camera can not shoot fast enough to make it worth it. just buy a memory card that is a decent brand. Go to your local electronics store, and look at what they have on sale at the time. Go with that. Cards are so cheap nowadays that in my opinion it is worth it to get something that is 4gb or 8gb, you should be able to get either one for less than $ 25.
For example, my local electronics store has a sale on Sandisk and PNY. Both companies have a 4gb for $ 15, or an 8gb for $ 25.
