Is there a place for my digital camera memory card to plug into my computer?

Is there a place for my digital camera memory card to plug into my computer?

I have an Olympus D-390 digital camera and was wondering if there’s any way I can plug the memory card into my computer to get my pictures from the camera onto the computer? Do I need special software, or can I just get the pictures I want and save them to my computer? Thanks in enhancement.

Pick up a card reader – about $ 25. The camera card plugs into the reader. It appears as an “external storage device” – you can drag and drop the photos.

All my photo goodies!

i just bought a new olympus camera yesterday (Olympus 14.0MP Digital Camera – Grey (FE-4020)) . i bought it at target and a guy in electronics was helping me.. he said it was a fantastic brand but the only terrible t hing about olympus is that you can only use their brand memory card.. so he grabbed it for me and i payed..took my camera home excited to get it all started and…my memory card wouldnt fit..
im not having a blonde moment or anything like that.. im trying to place it in the right way.. and it nearly fits but seems about 1 centimeter too huge.. i dont want to push it in and break it off but i also want to make sure im doing it all right before i go back to the store demanding to return it..

You need an SD/SDHC Card. Not XD. A pain in the butt, I know.

At least the sales person was attempting to help, but he had given you some incorrect information about the memory cards everywhere the camera really takes SD/SDHC cards everywhere practically any brand would do and not just strictly Olympus cards.

One type of card that I prefer to be by over any other brand would be Sandisk which would work just fine.

Olympus used to use the xD memory card, but sometime in 2009, they went to the mircoSD card. That means that users could use an SD adapter with the microSD to read by a standard card reader, found both on computers and with USB 2.0 card readers.

The newest Olympus P&S cameras now use SD/SDHC cards, just like all the rest of the P&S cameras (yes Sony too). The day of the proprietary memory cards, Memory Stick and xD is over .. finally

Take the card back and get the right one. You will see you can get more capacity for the same price. 4 times the quantity
