Additional equipment for the Canon XSi for professional photography?

Additional equipment for the Canon XSi for professional photography?

professional canon
by Mr Gus

I am just starting in photography. I now have the Canon XSi and like it! Of course I have the standard 15-55mm lens as well as the 55-250mm lens. Of course I would like nothing more than to buy everything else I need at once, but that is too expensive. What lens would you recommend export next? I mostly do child & family photography. I appreciate the help in enhancement!

Do not buy another EF-S lens, but stick to the full format lenses. If you reckon you are going to go pro one day, you will most liable get a full format camera and you don’t want to end up stuck with a lens that you can’t use any more.

Sorry to disagree with Picture Taker, but not all pros use cameras with 35mm sensors.

The EF-S lenses are meant to offer wide angle capability with APS-C size sensors. If you don’t need a better wide angle lens, then Picture Taker is right, you won’t need another EF-S lens, but not for the reason he stated. If you want a better wide angle lens for this camera, then the Canon f/2.8 17-55mm is highly regarded. What you should look into is getting an off-camera sparkle like the 430 EX or, better still, the 580 EX. Also a excellent tripod and remote release. Your XSI can give you brilliant results for the intended subject matter. Be aware, though, that the skills of the photographer are 90% of a successful shot.

50mm f1.4 prime. It’s fantastic for portraits and costs only 140$ Can new. That and is you dfon;t already have one yet, geta a Canon Speedlight 580EX II.

What do you reckon? Answer below!

After 2 1/2 being of owning the 450D XSI I finally took the leap and upgraded to the 60D. For beginners, the XXXD line of products from Canon are truly everywhere to start. My 450D taught my everything I needed to know about shooting with DSLRs.

Now that I’ve owned this baby (the pictured Canon) for 18 days it’s finally getting familiar to use.

I’m looking to buy a professional camera but I don’t exactly know the excellent features to look for. What are so really nice and excellent cameras by nikon or canon?

Answer by fhotoace
Now there are two professional level, full frame cameras made by Nikon and Canon … Nikon’s D3 ($ 5,000) and Canon’s 1Ds Mark III ($ 8,000) and two semi-pro full frame cameras the Nikon D700 ($ 3,000) and the Canon 5D ($ 2,400) Then you get into what I call the pro-bridge cameras that have the less vital APS-C sensor, but with all the pro features …. the Nikon D300 ($ 1,700) and the Canon 40D ($ 1,000)

At present the Nikon D3 and D700 have the best by far, high ISO routine (very low noise at ISO’s up to 6400) which is super vital if you are shooting in available set alight situations like news or sports.

Since you are a pro, look the the company you are by as your 35 mm camera system or talk to your colleagues who are members of NPPA or ASMP for some feed back on those cameras.

Two of my colleagues are moving from Canon to Nikon since the D3 and D700 were unrestricted because they are so excellent at capturing images in low set alight with the least noise of any camera to date.

It all depends on your budget. So how much are you willing to spend?

If you are looking for a professional camera, but don’t know what features you want, then I suggest you buy the cheaper entry DSLRs. There’s no point in export more than you need. If you knew what you wanted from the camera then that’s a different matter.

The Nikon D40X or D60 and Canon XSi are excellent entry cameras. You’ll doubtless delight in by these cameras as they are highly recommended.

The top of the line models will be Nikon D3 and Canon EOS-1D Mark III.

Both models have nearly all of the bells and whistlers that anyone can thick of and extremely trying to say which model is better and for what reasons.

I believe the most vital factor for deciding which model to go with is the image quality, because both companies handle the image in their own way.

For example: Canon image tend to be a touch softer than Nikon and the skin tone is a touch warmer as well.

As a result, you might have to field test both models to determine which model is better suit yourself.

BTW, are you by any DSLR or SLR? Which brand?

If you are by SLR already, why don’t you stay with that brand? Since you have some pool of lens already.

I highly recommend Canon XTi(400D). It offers the same pro features that you would find in high end Canon/Nikon cameras. Most photographers will tell you that lenses are more vital than Cameras. You can buy a Canon XTi with a kit lens for around $ 550 and save your money to buy extra lens or external sparkle. Most people spend most of their budget on the camera body. Built in sparkle and kit lenses do not produce excellent results.

The Rebel XTi is compatible with all Canon lenses in the EF lineup so you can mount high end lenses like L series on XTi. You can also mount any Canon flashes such as the fantastic 580ex II on XTi.

You can find plenty of fantastic deals on ebay:

Excellent luck!
