Please help me! I need tips on taking pictures at concerts with a digital camera.?
I recently went to a concert and had 4th row seats. I took so many pictures, but was so disappointed because most of them were blurry. I take fantastic still pictures with this camera, but low lighting and movements caused them to not be in focus. What am I doing incorrect? I felt like my hand was steady when taking the pictures but still finished up with fuzzy public on a lot of them. I have a Sony Cyber-shot, 5.1 mega pixels with smart zoom. This is my first digital camera and tried to review the manual before the concert, but even using the “candle” background and the “moon” background..pictures were still out of focus. I’d be grateful for any tips on taking action pictures. Thanks.

you should get film pictures

when there is movement it is best to use the action background if you have it on your camera. It makes moving pictures turn out clearer

if your camera has the night likeness feature, you should be able to take pictures using that background. My camera has it and when you take pictures it adds the extra lighting as if it were daylight. It comes out very apparent

The candle and the moon features are really slow in focusing, and they need a trypod or something that ensures the shot will not be moving.
Try instead the ‘rafaga’ mode, (oh my god, just forget the name in english) where you click once and the camara automatically takes more than one shot. Then you erase the ones you dont like.
You know what’s the feature i’m talking about?

Dailyshoot Challenge –
2010/01/20: Make your camera the star of the show today. Use another camera or mirror to place your camera in a photo of its own. #ds66
The star for me is the EOS Digital Rebel XSi / 450D / Kiss X2. This camera is teaching me lots! Yet, I need to read some and learn to use it to its fullest!
Note…It’s a fantastic thought to have a small pocket point and shoot, too! I used a Sony Cybershot to capture this pic!
And my question to you…what is the best lens for this camera?
I have the EFS 18-55mm and the Cannon 75-300mm.
I want to buy a nice digital camera, I am just getting started in photography as leisure activity. I have checked out and liked the Sony cyber shot 9 megapixel and Nikon Coolpix P80 10 megapixel.
They both seem alot alike, in price also. Does any person own one of these cameras or have a review? Or what is your take on Sony verses Nikon?

I would personally choose the Nikon over the Sony. Nikon is a camera maker – they make cameras and they do it well. Sony is a huge electronics company – they make everything and do it all ok I guess.
My largest complaint with Sony is that they force you to use their Memory Stick type of memory. These are expensive and no additional brand uses them so if you get another camera you won’t be able to use it. I reckon that’s very cheap of them and I recommend public avoid them because of it.

Nikon makes excellent cameras, Sony makes excellent televisions.
