Answer by Rayan
all Sony Vegas versions incloude a capture tool. use this tool to capture them. if you don’t want to do that try to download your videos on your PC and convert them to AVI or WMV using a converter. as you see there is noting can stop you from making your movies :d

Project #1: Sample | List EOS 600D/Rebel T3i 18-55mm HD 25fps Record Snapshot 4sec Record
canon hd video camera

Here’s another sample record taken on the List EOS 600D, using the 18-55mm Kit Lens, and the record snapshot feature. The camera was on manual focus on purpose, so don’t reckon that the auto-focus on this camera is crap.

I’ve edited this record using Windows Movie Maker, adding a Black and White, and Sepia effect in different parts of the record. The brightness has also been lowered in the 2nd part of the record. No additional adjustments have been made. If you want the first record without any adjustments, please contact me.

Additional details of this record: 1920×1080, 25fps, Record Snapshot: 4 seconds, No auto-assess image brighness & contrast used, Automatic image effects, Live mode focus.

The soundtrack is by the Swedish House Mafia, ‘Save the World’ & was not made by Hieu Le. Copyright 2011, Hieu Le, All Rights Reserved.

I just bought a List HD mini DV camera. Is there a huge difference in using the HD tapes vs the fixed mini DV tapes? I just shot my first record and didn’t notice a difference – yet…..anyone have input on this? thanks
thanks, both excellent answers and just what I needed to know. and thanks for the tip on cheap tape finds :)

Answer by Small Dog
No – there is not a “huge difference”.

I’ve been shooting HDV for 4+ years.

Don’t re-use the tapes and you will be fine. I use the “Sony Premium” tapes that I get at Fry’s in 8-packs for $ 24.99 – so a small over $ 3 each. a 60 small tape holds up to 63 minutes of HDV format record. tapestockonline has them cheaper in quantities.

Answer by Iridflare
The difference between the tapes is in the build quality. The effects of tape problems are more noticeable with HD so the tapes, in theory, need to be better. Small Dog’s already told you what the real world’s like :-) There’s no real conundrum with reusing tapes several times though you’ll usually end up having recorded something vital and you’ll want to keep it.
