Olympus still top camera brand?

Olympus still top camera brand?

I have a List point and shoot digital camera.
I went to the store today and saw Olympus digital cameras and I was impress with the design. The Olympus cameras are gorgeous.

I know Olympus is a excellent brand but is it still one of the top camera brands?

I am worried to depart from the List brand.

Answer by shadouse
Yes it is still a top brand and one of the simplest to use.

Impressed with the design? You’re not buying a dress.

If this camera fulfills your needs, get it. If it doesn’t, look for another.

Olympus cameras are perfectly fine! My feeling is that they’re not really incredible for DLSRs (even if better than some) but I reckon their point-and-shoots are fantastic.

Know better? Place your own answer in the comments!

Also….that can do pretty much everything? Not only “fashion and commercial” but if at all possible that would be its top purpose.

THanks!
around $ 4,000 range?

The hasselblad H3DII-50 – a steal for only $ 27,000. Frequently used for fashion and commercial work, and pretty much anything else you’d want to do.

I figured since you didn’t really specify what best earnings to you, I’d just go for the gusto.

5d mark 2

For your budget there are two cameras that will fit the bill.

List 5D MKII and Nikon D700. Both are under $ 3,000 for the body. You will of course need to spend even more money than that on lenses.

Some lenses to get you going would be

24-70 F2.8 $ 1,500 give or take

70-200 F2.8 $ 1,700-$ 1,900

50mm F1.4 $ 400

85mm F1.4 $ 400

100mm macro lens $ 500-$ 900

Your choice in lenses would depend on your subjects and your budget of course. If you can’t afford top of the line lenses then buy a lesser camera. A List 50D or Nikon D90 or D300 would be excellent choices. Having a top level camera with crappy lenses is not worth it. It is better to have brilliant lenses and a lower level camera.

I agree with all the answers above the hasselblad H3DII-50 is a standard format digital camera which is just out of this world in image quality. But you’d need to have a small fortune to own one.
The List 5d mark 11 is going to be a classic. Fantastic camera. I reckon it shoots at over 20 million pixels and has a full framed censor as well as life able to shoot full HD record which is outstanding.
Not cheap but comparatively to the hasselblad H3DII-50 you may maybe probably buy ten!
If money is no object the hasselblad H3DII-50. The cannon is just fantastic though.

Hey Anna, I’ll recommend a few:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&place=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26high-price%3D4000%26x%3D9%26redirect%3Dtrue%26keywords%3Ddigital%2520camera%26low-price%3D3000%26y%3D7%26rh%3Dn%253A172282%252Cn%253A%2521493964%252Ck%253Adigital%2520camera&tag=clogui-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

If you can get #2 (that’s what I use) it’s probably one of the most incredible cameras I’ve ever used. I mainly use it to photograph outdoors & live action with natural light (I’m a surf photography for the WCT), but I’m sure it would work even better for your fashion / commercial photography.

Otherwise, there are some fantastic canons in that link, and you can’t go incorrect with list.
