Would you say that this is a good price for a lap top of these specs?

Would you say that this is a good price for a lap top of these specs?

ITs a 17.5 in screen 2.5ghz dual core proccessor, 400 GB hard drive, 320Mb 3D graphics card, backed for 3 years, Windows XP, surround sound system, Its a custom built computer. and the shell is an acer shell, but it has other parts in it. From what they told me they are better quallity than ACER<- what is Acer? never herd of them. I am aslo getting a Cannon 10 MP 6xoptical 4x digital zoom Digital camera, an HP Printer for Photo quality pictures, A pelican case to put it in, Lithium batt. and a couple of other things. the price is $ 2850.00 Do you think this is tomuch?

That sounds like too much to me. For almost $ 3000 you should be able to get something absolutely top of the line. Also the fact that it comes with a digital camera sounds sort of gimmicky to me.

I would shop around some more. This system is just under the specs you listed, and is less than half the price (just looked it up real quick):

Seems like an ok price. I would try to negotiate down to 2600.00

Acer is a computer maker just like Dell. A little less famous, but an ok brand.

im building a computer now and the specs are a 3 gighurtz quad core with 2 400gig sata hard drives a 24 inch wide screen monitor 4 gigs of ram 2 768 meg evga graphics cards on an SLI motherboard a 8.1 surround sound card wifi card, firewire expansion card and gaming mouse, keyboard

all of this for about 2,000

oh and acer is a really good gaming computer company that is pretty cheap

That laptop is worth about 750 max… and i’m giving it ALOT of leeway by saying that much due to the peripherials that come with it and the fact they are willing to warrenty it for 3 years.

More than likely they are lying to you as some of the componets arent even real.

17.1 is a screen size, not 17.5

2.5 dual core is antiquated tech and isnt even a true 2 core CPU…it was a rip off that intel came out with until they could prefect the Core 2 duo CPU’s

The 320mb card is more than likely an intergrated graphics card made by intel… its not trash, but its nothing to brag about. It would be able to play games like the SIMS but anything over that and it will struggle.

I have an old Sony S60 which still works good but it’s just so bulky. I’m looking at: Sony DSC T20(8.1MP), DSC W55(7.1MP), DSC W80(7.1MP), Casio EX Z75(7.2MP), and EX Z1050(10.1MP). Which one should I get??? I’m trying to compare and contrast all of them but I still can’t decide. I’m not sure that I really need a camera with 10MP because I don’t really blow up pictures. I just want something I can have for a long time without problems. I don’t need the “top-of-the-line” camera.

Well for the most part these cameras all have similar features.

Personally what I look for in a digital camera is:
a good optical zoom.
something that fits in a shirt pocket or back pocket
a camera with a display larger than 2.5 inches.

all those megapixels are great but probably won’t be needed unless you want to print out pictures larger than 8×10 at 300 dpi.

and also take a look at this camera. i’ve had my eye on it lately because of the all weather features.

if would recommend this one cuz of the all weather features.

It really depends on economics. The easiest answer would be to go for the EX Z1050 because of the 10.1 megapixels, but, quite frankly, unless you’re doing some really large graphics, that’s over-kill. I’d suggest you’d do well with a Sony– they’ve gotten good reviews and the DSC T20 on Amazon looks the most affordable. The W80, though, has got some handy features, is well supported by Sony, and gets remarkable reviews on the shopping sites I regular. It’s a bit steep, but I think it’ll last you a long time.
