Sorry to say, your Sony is not digital. It is a Hi-8 analog vcam.
But you can convert your analog to digital files w/c can then be imported to a pc. There are devices meant for this process:

Send your tapes to StashSpace.Com and they will digitize them for you. It usually costs $ 7 per hour tape but they are running a promo where the tape transfer to digital is FREE with a Premium account.

Once the digital files have been made you can edit your record online to make custom DVDs or you can get the files back on a portable hard drive.

Check them out at http://www.stashspace.com or give them a call they have brilliant service. Excellent Luck.

Bought in 2001. Taken with the new digital camera. Reasonably a lumbering beast, really.

I’m wanting a excellent digital camera, but not something that would cost a million dollars. It can be additional brands but I would prefer sony… So I’m looking for a camera that isn’t bulky… but I guess most digital camera’s aren’t. I’d like a excellent picture quality as in… no random white dots if the lighting source isn’t excellent, or anything like that. Positively quick picture taking would be lovely… and if the camera’s limit is only limited to the memory cards’ limit. Also life able to record clips… if there may maybe be some sound. I was looking at some of the lower grades of sony camera and I noticed recording doesn’t have sound.

And again, I’d prefer sony, but I guess it doesn’t really matter.

Since you prefer Sony, here are two pretty well reviewed models of Sony that meet up to your requirements. Both have quick response times and they both take record with audio.

One is the Sony N2

Second is the Sony T100

Personally I would go for the N2 because of its larger sensor but then thats a personal preference because on the additional hand, the T100 is VERY compact.

Excellent luck!

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50 is about $ 180. You’re not going to get something better than that for the price.
