Help! Are the video's from my digital camera forever gone?

Okay so I have a Nikon Coopix L11 Digital camera and I just downloaded the videos and pictures onto my computer by putting the memory card in the small slot on the side of my computer…okay so I downloaded the pictures and videos, but now I can’t watch the videos, the appear as pictures with the file type : JPEG how can I watch the videos on my computer again? Please Help.
P.S I deleted them off my memory card for my camera.

ermm.. have you tryed right clicking the file and then open with.. then select a program to open it in? like wmp or quick time

It might be a record codec issue. Download GOM Player (link below), install, and try to play them with GOM player. GOM player is a nice media player with most of the needed codecs built in.

Try opening them in a different media player. Try downloading VLC player from here; http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Are you looking in the assess folder. Your videos are not stored in the same folder as your pictures. In the folder with your name on the Desktop, click on the “Videos” folder and see if your videos are in there.

I am making videos on utube with a nikon coolpix s6000 but it is not working for me. When I try to get a close up on an item, the item’s logo is all blurry and unreadable. I want to buy a new camera with better focusing record. Are there any out there under $ 200? I do not want a camcorder. Thanks,

That’s nothing to do with the record function, you’re just getting too close to the subject (quicker than the len’s minimum focusing distance).

Back off a bit & use the zoom feature to zoom in before you press record – this will also cause less image distortion.
